Halloween

A short break from politics coming up for one night this weekend. Is there an organized bar crawl going on? If so, would anyone like to meet up with me (in costume)? I plan on going alone anyway. I haven't gotten out much this year and I need this lol. I'm looking to get downtown via Uber between 10-10:30pm. 🥹

Autism groups, meetups & resources

Hi everyone! I’m looking for autism-friendly groups, meetups, activities, and community resources for my 7-year-old daughter. She’s a sweet, kind, and compassionate little girl who is feeling lonely and struggling to find friends who understand her.

She’s also having a hard time with self-esteem and self-worth, especially when it comes to connecting with neurotypical kids who may not understand her differences. I would love to find a welcoming, inclusive environment where she can make friends, feel accepted, build confidence, and be herself.

If anyone knows of local autism groups, social activities, playgroups, events, or other resources for autistic children, I would truly appreciate any recommendations or information. Thank you so much in advance 💛

I want to be your County Auditor!

I’m Dalton Bosze and I want to be your next Mahoning County Auditor.

I graduated from Canfield High School, and now live in Austintown after my time at college in Indiana and working in local government there.

I returned home for a simple reason: I love this area. It is my home, and with my deep knowledge in local government operations I hope to make life better for every county resident.

-The County Auditor plays a crucial role in property tax appraisals which directly impact the property tax you effectively pay (this year you will be paying nearly 9% more on average according the incumbent Auditor)

-The County Auditor inspects Weights and Measures (like gas pumps and deli scales) to make sure they are accurate and you are not stiffed.

-He acts as the county’s Chief Fiscal Officer creating the annual financial report and making sure the county’s budget is accounted for and spent properly.

-Issues licenses for businesses, dogs, kennels, and cigarettes.

-Sits on County Boards which determine County investments, property tax adjustments, and review levy income, to name a few.

My Platform is simple:

Affordability: Double the Homestead Exemption, End the Levy Fatigue, and Pressure Columbus for real property tax relief and more funding back into our communities.

Accessibility: Create Traveling Office Hours where employees set up temporary office hours at various communities in the county. Protect Funding for Emergency Services and Schools.

Accountability: Crack down on fraud and increase consumer confidence in Weights and Measures, Divest from Foreign Investments in the County Investment Portfolio.

So Reddit, Ask Me Anything!

The last Thursday of every month we have a FREE All Ages Goth Night at the Westside Bowl in Youngstown, Ohio! This month is Halloween, so we're hoping to really fill the place up! If your interests cross over into Doom/Stoner music, you may have seen word of Westside Bowl with our Emissions from the Monolith 10 revival- it's not your standard bowling alley! October's Goth Night is on 10/29/26.

The Westside Bowl is located at 2617 Mahoning Ave in Youngstown, Ohio. It has it's own free parking lot, and there is a ton to do in the area. The Westside Bowl itself has two full bars (non-alcoholic drinks are available), a full menu, a record store, two stages, an arcade (with pinball!), and of course bowling.

If you were just ran off the road by a psychopath in a gray ram bighorn on SR-11n I got the license plate if you want it

I just witnessed an actual psychopath run a man merging onto the highway off the road. The guy in the ram was driving WAYYYY too fast. I was going fast, and he was blowing me and everyone else away. A guy was already over the line merging on to sr-11n and the guy in the ram going fast af didn’t even slow down. He came very close to side swiping the smaller caller, luckily the guy in the smaller car was able to jerk back into the merging lane and come to a complete stop.

This was not a matter of a driving mistake it was seriously the craziest thing I’ve seen someone do on the road.

I was able to get the license plate number of the guy in the ram. If by chance anyone knows the driver of the smaller car (maybe he said something to you about it) or he sees this please message me and I will send you the license plate.

This happened between 3:35pm-3:40pm on 10/26/26. I don’t know the roads and exits super well but we were going between youngstown and Nile’s/Warren.

The ram driver seriously would have probably killed this guy had they collided.

Bowl N Brawl!!!

Hey everyone! I see a lot of posts here with people who are looking for a place to hang out, a place to make new friends, or looking for new things to do around Youngstown. I always try to comment on those posts, but I figured I'd drop a general invite with some info!

Bowl N Brawl

Bowl N Brawl is a place for competitive gamers, casual gamers, spectators, or just those who want to hang out with cool people! We have several fighting game brackets every time, including Street Fighter, Tekken, Guilty Gear, Avatar and more, and let's not forget the most exciting bracket of all - MYSTERY. For those who don't want to get competitive but want to game, we always have additional setups with all sorts of games running - lately we've seen a lot of Mario Kart and friendly Smash, and even some board games! And of course you're more than welcome to bring your switch, a controller, or even a small setup to join the fun! Even if gaming isn't your thing, or you just don't feel like playing, coming to just hang out or spectate is more than encouraged! And the cherry on top - coming out and supporting a rad local business!

Where and When?

Bowl N Brawl takes place every other Wednesday at the amazing Westside Bowl! People usually start to show up at 5, and the brackets officially start at 6. It depends on the night, but we are usually there until 10-11 or so, so if you work late and still want to pop by, that's always an option!

The next Bowl N Brawl is this Wednesday, October 28th! In the Halloween spirit, everyone is welcome (but by no means required) to dress up, and there will even be a costume contest!

I hope to see some new faces! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, and I'm sure the fantastic guy that puts it all together will be happy to chime in too! We also have a discord, I won't spam it here, but I'm happy to share with anyone interested!

PS - if you do plan to participate, we ask that you sign up before 5pm Wednesday, but the earlier the better! https://www.start.gg/tournament/bowl-n-brawl-59/details
