Woot woot... it's Black Cat Day!

Black Cat Day today and my boy is in the hospital since Sunday as he was diagnosed with Acute Kidney Injury 😔 I was a mess for a couple of days already as I was so worried, but we have to be strong for him. 3 more days and then labs to see if he is responding to the meds. At least he is noisy and eating and moving now vs. before confinement.

We get to see him at least twice a day, and if I can work at the vet, I’d do it. Aaaaahhhh I miss you my child. Be strong and we’ll go home soon!

About a week ago there was a thread here about black cats with no tails. I commented a screenshot of a cat at the shelter I had sponsored, Jet, who had been in the shelter since at least March. He had his tail amputated and he is a shy little love bug.

Another member of this sub saw him, and last Sunday she took him home!!! I got the pleasure of meeting her as I was already dropping off donations from my birthday party at the shelter. I am so happy that this sub helped get a wonderful kitty into an even more wonderful home. Wishing Jet the happiest life with his new family!!!

She was the sweetest little gal. She took her last breath this morning after a rough month of rapid decline. Her best friend and husband is our fluffy guy Dunkin, who always wrapped his arm around her to clean her and cuddle. Her eyes became foggy and she kept climbing in the fridge the past 2 months. The dogs came to sit with her in her last day and refused to leave her side. Rest in peace to little Sasha, the most mysterious gal around 🖤

My void girl loves biting me after I shower while intensely purring the entire time like a motorboat. This has happened for multiple years, and I've changed the shower products I use multiple times. I think it's just her trying to rescent me after a shower, but it's quite an intensive and important part of the day for her. Anyone else have this experience?

Tippi survived ~3 weeks in a house with her deceased owner and feline sibling. She spent most of her time hiding at her first foster home, but came out almost immediately when she arrived here.

We lost our beloved orange cat, Winky, on Valentine’s Day. Tippi reminds us of her in so many little ways. I never wanted or intended to replace my little orange idiot, and I feel guilty. When I get really down, I say we should give her up.

We’ve fostered over 100 cats. I have a feeling this one is staying. I just really miss my Orange 🖤🧡

Any advice?

Today marks 2 years that I lost Max (Maximus J Cat). He was my best friend in the entire world, I don't know if I'd still be here if it weren't for him. I loved him and I know he loved and trusted me, he showed it every day. Letting go of him was one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with and I still struggle with that every day.
