Former competitive gamer Lauri "Cyanide" Happonen has died at the age of 31. This has been confirmed to Ilta-Sanomat by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV). He passed away on July 31. The cause of death is not known. Happonen was one of the first stars of the game League of Legends.

He won the game’s world championship at the age of 16 in 2011, reached the world championship semi-finals in 2013, and was crowned the European league champion three times in a row between 2013 and 2014.

In the worst case scenario for the west in the 2-1 bracket, Lyon loses to IG and KOI loses to T1. If KC at the very least beats CFO, then there will be a minimum of 4 western teams in the 2-2 bracket between Lyon, KOI, KC, and the winner of TL vs LOS, guaranteeing one team to get out. In a slightly better scenario, the four western teams get put into 2 matchups, meaning 2 teams get out. This is also assuming that HLE beats G2. If G2 are able to overcome HLE alongside KC beating CFO, two western teams will be guaranteed top 8 given 5 of the 6 teams in the 2-2 bracket will be western.

In the copium scenario of Lyon and KOI beating IG and T1, the west can theoretically get 5 teams out of groups assuming perfect draws.

I barely even play League anymore, aside from couple of ARAMs, but, every single year, Worlds gets me so fucking hyped.

I'm a massive football fan. But there's genuinely nothing in sports that gets me as excited as Worlds does.

The EU vs NA trash talk, the yearly question of whether the gap between the West and the East is finally closing, the underdog stories, the insane upsets, and somehow T1 always finding a way to become an entirely different beast when Worlds comes around. And even though I'm a EU fan and certified NA hater, the second NA faces an Eastern team, I'm their biggest supporter.

And as a European, there's something special about watching Worlds. We spend the entire year flaming each other's teams, arguing about who's overrated and who's going to choke internationally. But the moment Worlds starts, all of that goes out the window. Suddenly, you're cheering for teams you've been making fun of all year, just because they're representing EU. And every year, no matter how hopeless it looks, there's that tiny bit of belief that maybe, just maybe, this is finally our year. Also even thought i´m a EU fan, the second NA faces an Eastern team, i´m their biggest supporter

It's the storylines, the rivalries, the history, the atmosphere, the stakes. Everything just feels bigger at Worlds.

It's honestly crazy how a game I barely even play can still make me feel like a kid looking forward to Christmas once a year.

I fucking love it

This is the first time since swiss was implemented in 2023 that a LPL team has been directly eliminated by a team that is not LPL or T1 at Worlds. And it's NA who did it by ending their 20 series loss streak against LCK/LPL.

Was scrolling through some images, saw a face that heavily reminded me of Vayne, and immediately felt the urge to draw her. I really wanted to focus on the short hair aesthetic, so I went with the Sentinel skin. Hope you like it!

TLDR:
5 teamfights, first 3 teamfights no bailout, last 2 had bailout.
Fight 1 his timing to press W is very small but he should still be able to do it. But this fight is not important as they would go 5 for 0 instead of 4 for 1.

Fight 2 bailout has no significance on the fight, Kalista is one shot with no target for bailout.

Fight 3 is the most crucial fight. The placement of Galio ult and Caliste flashing forward but still getting clipped by the ult makes it hard for Renata to W him. His only window would be pressing W on a full HP Kalista while both of them are standing in Galio ult before Caliste flashed forward.

A lot of people have been very critical of Busio’s Renata Ws in his game vs Lyon, I think the criticism is valid and even Busio himself has been very critical of that. But I thought it was important to show the context of why his Ws weren’t going off, and how difficult and strange some of those fights were.

Ok, first thing is that Renata W is an ability that you want to use as late as possible because it makes getting the bailout more of a guarantee and it’s a 28 second cooldown lvl 1. You get one a fight, you cannot risk it getting kited out. It’s a 5 second spell so there is so leniency in when you can press it.

Secondly Renata W starts you at full hp and ticks down slowly, but you can be killed during this sequence so there’s always a risk of you getting one shot before you can get a takedown. Additionally getting a take down puts you at 20% hp and once again you may be one shot as soon as you revive.

Three I want to point out that Busio put heavy prio on getting good ults off this game and almost every ult hit 2-3 people, almost always hitting the Yunara. There are 5 teamfights in the game, he doesn’t bailout the first 3 and does bailout the last 2, I cut out fight 4 because he used bailout, and left fight 5 in purely to highlight the insane mikaels and positioning from Isles which saved the game.

Fight breakdown:
Fight 1
Fight 1 Busio is Kalista ulted as wukong flash engages on Caliste, he comes out of ult, immediately channels his ult (which hits 2 key targets as kyeahoo flanks and lands a huge ult). Once he presses R he cannot use his W during the cast time, he’s then CC’d by wukong R, has one single frame where he can W the Kalista (which he should) before he’s knocked up again by Galio and Kalista is killed while he’s in CC.

Ultimately this fight isn’t really that important it changes a 4 for 1 into a 5 for 0 which is not insignificant but doesn’t break the game.

Fight 2
Fight 2 even if Renata W’s Kalista here, she has no one to get bailout off. She’s 100’d to 0’d really quickly by wukong and they’re basically full hp. In this fight he Kalista ulted over the wall as wukong went in, knocking up the enemy backline and landing a 3 man ult. Sadly lee sin Q is interrupted by Syndra E and they are unable to get bailout which Busio put on himself.

The only criticism here is that maybe he should kalista ult into wukong and play to peel instead, but also KC just shouldn’t be in this position, they’re completely split off from their Cassio and Leesin who are showing on midwave giving the enemy a free engage.

Fight 3
This is the fight which breaks the game, this is the most important fight for Busio to get W off. In the sequence, Busio Kalista ults onto Yunara as Galio R starts. He immediately handshakes the Yunara then flashes out of the Galio R.

As this is happening Caliste is going in into the chunked enemy Lulu who is damaged by Lee sin and the Renata R hitting berserker again. He gets the rend on Lulu and then flashes forward away from Busio to get access to the backline. Sadly he’s still in the Galio ult range, is knocked up full cc’d and instantly dies.

Going frame by frame, the Kalista has time to press rend on syndra which would kill her as the syndra Q’d him, this would deny the syndra stun. However at the same time, Galio E is about to hit him and wukong is E’ing onto him. I think he would likely die even with revive and the fight would still be lost.

The frame for Busio to W the Kalista is when Kalista is full hp and they’re both in the Galio ult. Maybe Caliste was shouting for it but Busio had already flashed out, maybe Busio didn’t expect Caliste to flash in. If Caliste didn’t get hit by Galio ult he probably could have played it, but flashing into the Galio ult and away from Renata seals his fate.

Basically, it’s easy to say “Busio should have W’d Kalista” but in reality it was a very difficult situation and I do not blame him for missing this timing. Caliste flashing forward and Renata flashing backwards being separated by the Galio ult also made the fight very difficult.
