This is actually my third time doing this today. The first time I wasn't recording as I did not think I could do it, second time I forgot to show my build but third time's the charm. This was done with the boss arena mod where you can choose which boss you want to fight in the Firelink Shrine (you warp back to it after beating a boss, hence the message at the end).

I’ve noticed he always follows the player through The Ringed City until you fight him on that bridge and knock him down into his boss arena. Is there a specific reason as to why he follows you around?

Dancer helmet, Artorias chestplate, Darkwraith leggings and gauntlets with Onikiri/Ubadachi.

Early on I pivoted from my Herald's spear to an Astoria Straight Sword because I had a hard time with the slow speed and getting hit mid swing. I'm now directly post-Yhorm with it at +7 with a Deep infusion. Flat damage alone, it is the strongest weapon I have, even beating out most soul-transposed weapons I've gotten. I'm muddling through, but it's definitely keeping me tied to a pretty boring play style, and I'm finding it hard to rationalize practicing with other weapons that aren't as leveled.

Part of this is certainly that I'm not very good at this game, and so I'm prioritizing being able to hit multiple times before rolling over my ability to parry or use other weapons skills. That, plus any other weapons base damage output being lower, makes it tougher to diversify.

Then, and maybe I just need to be researching farming more, but idk how I'd even upgrade another weapon more. Every next bigger type of titanite I get has gone into this weapon. Idk where I'd even get titanite chunks at this point, I think every drop I've gotten to this point has been a unique drop or find, not one from a farmable enemy.

PLEASE be nice to me, I know I'm late and out of the loop on this game, I play after my kid goes to bed and I can't be an expert here.

so i just completed the game and i bought this dlc to get some more things to do, upon arrival, i’ve been a tad lost
i spoke to some women in the ariandel chapel who told me to go back to where i came from, which was very nice of her.

from there i found a little town, the corvian settlement, which i wasn’t sure if was the right place.

without spoiling to much, could someone give me a rough direction to where i should be going to advance in the main story?

Have any of y'all had annoying random freezes plaguing your playthrough? I sure did. The game would randomly freeze ranging from a few seconds to upwards of 10. This is with a 5800X3D and a 5070TI. Safe to say that is well above the recommended specs for this 10 year old game.

After searching for a fix and trying a whole hell of a lot of them, nothing was working for me. Until I saw a post about trying to change the CPU affinity settings in Task Manager to disable the games use of CPU 0. This completely fixed my issue and it was buttery smooth afterwards.

The only problem with this fix was that windows reverts the CPU affinity settings after the game closes. This meant you would have to manually set it again every time you started the game up. This got pretty annoying real quick. So I decided to automate the process with some basic powershell scripting.

I put the finished script on to my Github page so others with the same problem could use it. It comes with a BAT file that you use to launch the game instead of through Steam. This will run the script to change the CPU affinity settings every time automatically and then the script stops itself from running to avoid using unnecessary resources.

No game files are modified by this script. It simply does what you would have to do manually to get acceptable performance. I can't guarantee that it will work for you but it won't hurt to try. You can just test by manually disabling CPU 0 in the affinity settings and see if it helps you first. So regardless I hope this knowledge may help somebody with being able to play this game without annoying constant freezing.

Sister Friede is my favorite Dark Souls boss of all time!

She has perfect pacing. Her difficulty is legendary, but not impossible or unfair. Cinematically its PEAK! The camera is generally great throughout the whole fight (King of Storms, Midir, I'm looking at you). The music is so good! (Only music that's better imo is Vordt's Music). She is a perfectly crafted boss fight.

(Gael is hot on her heels but I like Sister more).

Anyways she is the GOAT in my opinion.

Who are you giving best boss in Dark Souls to?

So did I miss an update to bosses or something? I reinstalled the game recently and am at the wolnire fight but hes not doing his usual attacks or anything his late fight attacks are happening sooner like normally I get 1 or 2 of his bands now I cant get one did I miss something? Like genuinely confused

I just got into Dark Souls, and I am convinced Nameless King is beyond difficult on the second play through
I’m going on my second day and easily 20+ attempts deep, genuinely losing my mind. To make matters worse, I just found out after all these agonizing tries that you can skip the damn cutscene. I’ve been sitting there watching him pet that damned bird. after reading up on his tragic exile lore, Gwyn was right. Keep him stuck on that godforsaken peak to rot. Now on every single future playthrough, this guy is staying strictly optional. I am never ringing that bell again.

Any tips?

First time playthrough with Elden Ring being my first souls game, i can't express the feeling that this game has given me, simply amazing. All 19 bosses down in the base game, DLC time!

Riposte brainfart lol. I knew I had a plan for it but I forgot I had a dagger.

Done at level 1, new game plus 7. Not a big fan of this boss. I hope I don't need to explain why phase 1 is bad. Phase 2 either feels like "spam roll in his face and attack when he's done" simulator, or the no roll strategy to let him gap close, punish, then run away to do it all again. The maneuvers to survive and hit him are actually very cool this way, and he's a great boss for teaching cool mechanics. I do have to thank him for that.

What I don't like is the process of disengaging. The move where he flies behind you/around and thrusts at you behaves unpredictably if you don't get him to full turn around and take a step towards you first. He can actually hit you at the start of this move if you're unlucky, this is very rare I think. It makes the spacing needed for this fight a lot more specific, and it just feels unintended. It's hard to enjoy a boss when you're worried that it will glitch at any time.

Holy fuck boys I did it..

I achieved the impossible tonight, 4 bourbons deep and a mountain of anguish over this dreadful boss. I preserved and fucking did it. This feeling is the best thing ever. Comparatively to Heroin. Wow. Wow. Wow. Dick on hard. 5 inches to the moon. Thank you for your advice and kind/not so kind words. God damn it. I popped an ember after my last flask ran out and just ran up to her with my claws and spammed L2 and she let me lol. Honestly 100% rng which is why I have always thought this boss was bs (she was on half health before that sequence) but we ball she is trash and I can finally stop stressing over this. Thanks!

I found a random guys summon sign and he was able to join my lobby my friend hasn’t seen another sign besides mine so no idea if someone else can join him

Im looking to make a big bonk thunder build, but making the faith secondary.

A few questions.

Is LKGS still good for faith strenght? If so, what is better to use an infusion or enchant it on the spot?

Is it better AR with lightning, heavy or blessed?

What other strengh weapons are the best? I want to also use something like vords great hammer or great club for a secundary weapon. I would obviously do both thunder weapons (the great axe and the axe)

How much points in faith do i need if its a second stat? And what would i use (talisman) for this build?

The number multiplier on it I mean, its definitely a high S, but what number is it compared to like plus 4 compared to plus 10
