What's the oldest game you still replay regularly?
And does it hold up or is it nostalgia?

The same pattern keeps repeating for me, I sit down to play and I stare at my steam library for a good 5 minutes trying to decide what to play. When I can’t decide, which usually happens, I just default to the same games I’ve been playing for years now.
The last couple of years have been kinda ridiculous for me when it comes to new releases (my backlog is huge at this point), between the sales and the stuff friends recommend I’ve gotten so many games I’ve yet to even properly try. I’m starting to feel bad about buying new games, in fact I’m trying to literally stop buying until I get through some of these. I keep telling myself “I'll play this when I'm in the right mood”, but in reality I'm usually a bit tired by the time I sit down to game, the mood never comes, and I default to the games I'm used to. It’s just so much easier for me to fire up something familiar that I’m already comfortable with.
Right now and for the past couple of years my comfort games have been Dota 2 and Last Epoch. Dota 2 is a game I have a love hate relationship with at this point, I have an ungodly amount of hours (high 4 digit number) and it’s still a coin flip whether it will be an infuriating waste of time or a satisfying game. I still can’t stop playing and it just feels like “my thing” when I’m playing some of my favorite heroes (Invoker and Puck are my most played). Last Epoch is just the ARPG with the best mechanics for the way I like to play right now (I pretty much played all of them for at least a bit). Solo self found and homebrew builds only, I never look at guides. It’s just so relaxing to play ARPGs most of the time, you make progress no matter what and I always have some new stupid build idea I just have to try.
I’ve tried a few different things to make myself branch out more but I feel so silly imposing rules for myself when it comes to gaming so I never really stick to the plan. I’ve made short lists of games that I was supposed to pick from for the week and things like that, but it just felt ridiculous to force myself to play something so I went back into my old pattern. At the moment I try out something new from my library every 3-4 weeks or so when the mood hits me, and at that rate I’m buying games way faster than I can play through them (or even try them out properly).
I know this happens to a lot of people, I was wondering if anyone has actually figured out a way to cure themselves of this stupid choice paralysis pattern. Sometimes watching a stream of a game I have hypes me up to play it but that’s the only thing I’ve found that works so far for me.

So I grew up mostly as a PlayStation/PC kid and I don’t regret it. Family wasn’t super rich or anything so we were always one console generation behind, but I’m grateful for what I had.
GTA: San Andreas, Jak 3, Need for Speed Carbon, Tekken 4… then later GTA 4, Battlefield 3, Gran Turismo 5, Skyrim… I have a lot of great memories and nostalgia for these games, and I definitely thought these kinds of varied and “adult” games were more appealing than Nintendo.
But a part of me was always curious. I thought, why is Super Mario such a big deal, why do people love these childish games? Or maybe I’d come home from a friend’s house after a fun session of Smash Bros or Mario Kart and be like… yeah those are fun party games but I wouldn’t wanna actually own the system… right? There was a much happier and inherently “fun” vibe to so many of these games that even though on paper it didn’t appeal to me, it always made me wonder just a little bit.
Now as an adult obviously it wouldn’t be too hard to go buy a used Wii I guess, or even a Switch 2, but money aside it wouldn’t be the same y’know? And I would probably end up going for the Bayonetta games and Taiko no Tatsujin… when what I’m really wondering is, what would it have been like to grow up with and have nostalgia for LoZ Wind Waker, or Super Mario Galaxy, or Sonic, Metroid, F-Zero, anything like that. Do you ever have similar thoughts, maybe feeling like growing up with a Wii (or N64 if you’re older) would’ve been fun? Or perhaps if you were a Nintendo kid, did you instead wish you had got to play Mortal Kombat and God of War like all your friends did?

Personally for me it was mirror's edge catalyst on the Xbox One I think when it first came out

Hello there,
I am looking for first person adventure shooters where you go through locations, you have to find secrets, etc.
No world war, no thousand of enemies.
Just pure adventure.
Something like Serious Sam but without tona od enemies.
Do you guys know something like that?

Good day everyone. Is anyone familiar with the Inotia series? I Just want to know if all four games are connected, or are they like final fantasy: their own world and story?
Don't know where to find parts 1 and 2. And only 4 is on Steam.

Ciao a tutti! Volevo un consiglio perché non so più che pesci pigliare.
Ho giocato skydancer e theia the Crimson Eclips(stupendo a dir poco)
Ringrazio!

How do I equip the healing potions from my inventory... I've got 14 in the inventory and I see no way to get them in my " pocket" to use them in battle, could anyone explain to me what am I doing wrong ( started in this gamer world not long ago and sometimes it's very confusing) sorry if it seems like a dumb question for the veterans

“Walked into my house, took all my cheese, jumped on the table, then asked if I needed help. 1/5 stars.”
Which NPC would leave you the worst review, and what would they say? 😂

I’m looking for some new games to get into, and I want to hear your recommendations for the best sci-fi games out there.
Honestly, the only game I’ve been playing lately that has me completely hooked is SWTOR. There’s just something about the worlds, the music, the atmosphere, the characters, and the overall feeling of being part of this massive universe that makes me want to keep playing. I’m looking for something that can give me that same feeling of getting completely lost in a game.
I’m open to literally any genre. MMOs, RPGs, survival games, looter shooters, extraction shooters, open-world games, action-adventure, anything. It doesn’t necessarily need to have an amazing story, either.
What I’m really looking for is a game with:
A beautiful, immersive world that makes you want to explore every corner.
Great music and atmosphere that make the experience even better.
Cool, memorable characters and lore.
Fun gameplay and progression that keep you wanting to come back.
That feeling of getting so invested in the world that you lose track of time and don’t want to stop playing.
I’m a huge sci-fi fan in general, so whether it’s set in space, on an alien planet, in a futuristic city, or somewhere completely different, I’m open to it.
I don’t care if it’s a newer release or an older game. I just want something genuinely fun that I can sink a ton of hours into and become immersed in.
So, what sci-fi games have done that for you? What game made you fall in love with its world and kept you coming back for more?
I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Is there any good games I can play with my long distance friend? We both are not gamers and she has a windows and I have a macbook, we never really played games before.
