To all the Trumpers, I just got a question. What did y'all get?
🚫 Y'all didn't get a wall.
🚫 You didn't get the swamp drained.
🚫 You didn't get affordable healthcare.
🚫 You didn't get eliminated national—national debt.
🚫 You didn't get a new infrastructure.
🚫 You didn't get Hillary Clinton locked up.
🚫 You didn't get Epstein accountability.
🚫 You didn't get a 5K DOGE check.
🚫 You didn't get the 2K stimulus check. (Background voice: "Man.")
🚫 You didn't get lower grocery prices.
🚫 You didn't get help buying a home or affordable home prices—they're going up.
🚫 You did not get America First
🚫 and you did not get peace; we at war right now.
What the fuck did you get? What did all y'all get? Mister "I'm finna save America" and all—what did y'all get? Y'all didn't get shit.
(Background voice: "Higher groceries.")
Higher groceries. He said the groceries was going down. He said the homes were gonna be more affordable, then he turned around and said, "Oh, you're too lazy to own a home, you don't deserve one. We finna jack the prices up some more."
I'll tell you what they got. They got what Professor Jonathan Metzl calls in his book Dying of Whiteness: they got validation for being white.
This goes back to the Southern strategy, which was designed to ensure that Black, brown, and white low-income people did not work together. It was to convince low-income whites that, "Hey, your life may suck, you may not be able to pay rent, you may not be able to put food on the table or a roof over your head, but at least you're not Black or brown." And that's exactly the strategy being deployed today.
This is why I say to the conservative folks on the right, who are low-income especially: they don't care about you either. They care about you just as much as they care about me or this Black brother here, and that is not at all.
Stop letting them divide you and make you think that your whiteness is something special. It's not. Your humanity is special. That's what we're fighting for. Stop voting for this right-wing fascist; start voting for your own self-interest, and that is to ensure you have meaningful healthcare, you have food on the table, you have roof over your head. That's how we form a more perfect union.
