To any Broncos fans who attended yesterday’s games, thank you for holding up the red flip cards for Larry Fitzgerald

The Cardinals franchise is an embarrassment to our city. Every home game we have opposing fanbases take over our stadium and it’s embarrassing. Yesterday, I seriously think there were more Broncos fans than Cardinals fans, which is a total disgrace for Larry Fitzgerald, who was inducted into the Ring of Honor and had his number retired.

The Broncos fans who participated in holding up the red and white cards showed total class. Thank you for understanding the moment.

Another one down! 8 teams to go for Bo. That pesky 49ers loss forces us into needing to plan to beat them in the Super Bowl. Steelers are next opportunity to cross one off the list! My family will be at that game and playfully trolling both teams in $4 Russell Wilson jerseys.

Did we fumble Javonte Williams ?

How is Javonte killin it as soon as he left Denver? Last year almost 1400 yards from scrimmage and 13 TDs. This year he already has 8 scores and racking up yards on MNF.

I don’t get it, where was all of this when he was in Denver ? Terrible injury 2nd year but what about year three and four ? How did we miss so badly on this ?

Bo Nix: Mug and Palms Coverage on the Mims Play

I heard the clip of Bo explaining the big play to Mims several times today. As a coach, I thought it might be helpful for the layman fan to have a breakdown on what Bo said.

Mug is how the defense lines up before the play. It means they are showing the QB a lot of pressure. They're threatening to blitz.

But they might:

  • Blitz the quarterback.
  • Drop back into pass coverage.
  • Send one defender while another drops.

Palms is how the defense covers receivers after the play starts. It's a mix in coverage that tries to trick the quarterback into throwing where a defender is waiting.

Two defensive backs work together: a cornerback and a safety. Normally, the corner covers the outside receiver and the safety helps with the inside receiver. But in Palms, if the inside receiver runs a short route toward the sideline:

  • The cornerback jumps down to cover that short route.
  • The safety takes over the outside receiver running deep.

On the long pass to Marvin Mims:

  1. Arizona showed Mug, threatening to blitz.
  2. Bo anticipated that the defense might actually drop into Palms.
  3. The short outside route would attract the cornerback.
  4. That left Mims running deep against a safety who had to get across to cover him.
  5. Bo threw the ball before the safety could get there.
  6. He also identified Budda Baker's earlier disguise, in which Baker moved toward the middle before the defense settled into a two-high zone.

In plain English: Arizona tried to confuse Bo about who was rushing and who was covering. Bo figured out the trick and used Arizona's own coverage rules against them.

That's what makes the play impressive. He didn't just see Mims open. He understood why Mims was going to be open before he got there.

From a quarterback-coaching standpoint, this is a much more sophisticated play than simply finding an open receiver. Bo identified a likely coverage before the snap, understood the rules governing the defenders, and anticipated where the receiver would be open.

That's the difference between throwing to an open receiver and throwing a receiver open.

Thanks for listening.

I have to admit wasn't sure how our secondary would hold up after losing PS2 and having Riley Moss banged up the past few weeks. Was super anxious especially about the Seattle game. JSN had a good but not great game against us but JSN has been frankly unstoppable. Otherwise our patchwork secondary including Barron and Rapp have been excellent. Defense hasn't missed a beat and I actually think our tackling has improved. I would love to keep everyone on this defense but seeing these guys step up makes me think we'd be fine if we can't re sign Riley Moss next year.

I feel like the internet has been freaking out over Bos' performance. When Bo was drafted I wasn't pleased but I've come around, whatever his stats the man is a winner.

For week 7, Bo Nix leads all QBs in ADOT (10.7). Patrick Mahomes posted the lowest ADOT (4.6) despite having the second longest time to throw

We arent the most 'fun' team to watch for neutrals but I really enjoy how after Sean's first year till now so far we have been such a professional, 'get business done no matter what' team almost every single game. Only had like 3 games total in last 2 and a half years where we were blown out.

For me winning and winning professionally with no extra fluff and just clinical efficiency is actually so fun. It's funny because even at new orleans I've heard coach didn't prioritize defense as much as he should have which led to the saints going 7-9 3 years in a row. Now he has drafted and signed more defensive guys at premium spots than offense and is committed to not be just free flowing passing explosion but a complete football team.

So far so good. I hope i don't jinx

Do you honestly see us making any trades before the deadline?

I'm sure everyone loves the idea of a big trade that could help boost our team, whether it's offense or defense. But do you actually think we will do anything or is it going to be more of a just keep moving forward with the team we got.

RB sounds good but I honestly don't want to take away from Harvey or Coleman.

Maybe TE or O-line (Ben Powers or Mike)

For defense the only thing I'd want is a great Inside LB who can cover the pass.

[Kosmider] Bo Nix’s brilliant TD dash provided needed reminder for Broncos: ‘You believe me now?’

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Bo Nix spotted the crease, but it wasn’t until he squirted through it that he realized just how much unoccupied grass was in front of him.

“There’s not a lot of times,” the Broncos quarterback said, “where you get that much open space.”

Nix needed a play like the one he made Sunday afternoon in the desert, an audacious 62-yard sprint into the end zone that lit the fuse on Denver’s 30-16 victory over the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium. It was a play that provided a needed reminder — to fans, to teammates, to Nix himself — of the quarterback’s ability as a playmaker. It was a play that gave a jolt to a Denver offense that finally teased explosive potential while putting up 377 yards, its highest total since Week 2.

“This,” veteran left tackle Garret Bolles said, “is who we are.”

Perhaps most importantly, it was a play, Nix hopes, that will finally quiet the concerns about a right ankle that has dominated conversation in the Rocky Mountains and beyond.

“You believe me now?” said a grinning Nix, who earlier this week emphasized that all was right physically with the ankle.

Bo Nix broke out of his slump thanks to a huge run.

It unlocked his confidence and he made throws we hadn't even seen him attempt for over a month.

Nix is back at the perfect time. He led the Broncos to the big win over Arizona and he's ready to go for the Chiefs showdown next week.

Turns out the Seattle defense is really good and scoring two TDs against them in a half isn't so bad.

Getting to The Game. RTD from Westminster/Arvada to Mile High?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi all! I’ll be headed down this Sunday for the game and was curious if anyone has taken the RTD from either Westminster Station or Olde Town Arvada Station to Empower Field? (Believe a switch at Union Station)

How easy was it? How long was the ride and walk from train to stadium? Overly crowed after the game?

Just looking for some input from anyone who might have don’t this before. This will be my first time at mile high for a football game and super stoked. GO BRONCOS!

First Broncos Game at Panthers

CO native and currently live in NC, planning to go to the game against Carolina. Are there any events/tailgates to meet fellow fans? Or areas in the stadium where broncos fans sit?

Haven’t gotten tickets yet… GO BRONCOS!!!
