I decided to name it, "Shapeshifter Shell" :D
Like something minimal instead of desktop-heavy? Prefer solid colours, gradients, image-based surfaces, or dynamic theming? Thinking of a different bar layout, custom fonts and icons, or a lockscreen that looks nothing like the default? You can configure all of that and save your own presets.
Here's what the shell is designed to do:
- Theming: Customize bar and popup background colours(solid, gradient or an image to be used as a pattern),transparency, texts and active/hover states.
- Bar: Change its position, layout, and appearance, including custom or segregated bars.
- Notifications: Choose where notification toasts appear.
- Cursor, icons and fonts: Use your own assets and fonts individually, with support for common archive and font formats.
- Keybindings: Assign actions to shortcuts or unbind them.
- Popups: Switch between Quickshell and Rofi, with Rofi available as a fallback, and customize popup scale and corner radius.
- Lockscreen: Customize alignment, buttons, shapes, backgrounds, and layouts, with presets.
- Display: Switch displays, adjust scaling, resolution and refresh rate, with automatic revert safeguards, and tune animation speed.
- Sounds: Configure audio devices and profiles, adjust microphone volume, and combine multiple outputs with manual delay compensation.
- Battery: View battery statistics and history, with charge-limit controls on supported hardware. For desktops(and laptops that have no physical battery ofcourse ), it wont be visible.
And that's pretty much it. A mouthful of customization options tbh

Hey guys! Last month I've been building my dream desktop environment. I've been developing in Java and Rust doing boring things over 12 years, and I always wondered why cheap operative systems had to look like Windows 95.
I am running broke on my job and no company wants to take me so I am experimenting new things and building startups and these "dream" non-profit things I always wanted to make.
I built my open source free desktop environment for Linux with one simple purpose:
Why doing this?
If you want to give it a look:
https://github.com/ArkFlame/flamewm
(I am actually looking for recommendations/advice on improving the UI further. I think the current base is "fine" but with help, tips and advices I can get the current UI to look much better without more RAM usage, I saw a bunch of beautiful desktop designs here, and I would love for you guys to share the ones you want to see into FlameWM to achieve beautifulness without bloat)

I actually use Fedora Linux 44 Workstation, with Red Hat Enterprise Linux logo as an Activity Icon. With Fedora logo for background and Kernel (if you noticed).Rocky Linux 9 Background (I liked it!). Also edited my fastfetch config to show Arch Linux logo and Debian 13 Trixie name.
I called it: Identity Crisis Linux. See ya.

I built it around this wallpaper, which I really liked.
A dual clock and a music player to go along with the taskbar.
Can you recommend any other widgets? I think I’ll add something for taking notes.

The idea is to let you recreate your own cat — their appearance, personality, habits, and little quirks. A familiar furry companion hanging out while you work.
I put together this small proof of concept to try it out. It’s still very rough, and the customization is part of the vision rather than something that’s ready yet. I wanted to share it early and get some feedback before taking it further.
It’s built natively with Swift and AppKit, with the cat rendered using Metal inside a transparent window.
I’d love to know:
Curious to hear your ideas, including the weird ones. Those are usually the most cat-like anyway :)

cw for blood and some uncomfortable imagery
my wallpaper of what is basically my horror oc a friend made for me, they combined all of the fanart i received for them. Unironically it has motivated me to keep going, and to make art where the blonde guy is happy lol... crazy what hyper fixes do to a man
i tried to arrange my apps neatly, but it was not made for a laptop lol
(edit: forgot to add picture so sorry)
(Edit 2: added WRONG pic)

I've been working on a Windows customization app called Glass Desky. Basically wanted to see how much I could change the look of Windows without using a ton of RAM.
Here's what I've come up with so far. There are actually quite a few more features than what's shown in the screenshots, but these are some of my favorites.
I think I've run out of ideas for my own setup lol. Curious what you guys would come up with.
If anyone wants to mess around with it, it's at glassdesky.com. Would love to see your setups or hear what else I should add.
