People in the US are increasingly complaining about less upward mobility and how the rich just get richer. The main reason for that is because capitalism is working correctly.
No one wants to live in a society in which no matter how well they do their children might struggle. In a healthy and prosperous society the rich should get richer and be able to pass on that wealth to their family without restrictions.
Think about it this way, in the United States today if someone is a doctor and invests and saves money responsibly they can pass along enough wealth to set up their family for generations if used responsibly. Anyone who is smart enough can become a doctor, even a family friend of mine who needs to take 450k of debt to graduate medical school, as long as they successfully graduate they will be set.
Most jobs make enough money to put something away in the stock market and with responsible investments even a modest salary can create real wealth.
This will not work for everyone some people truly don’t make enough to put money towards capital, but most of the time it is lifestyle creep or the fact that some places are just to expensive to live on a modest salary, but there are less expensive areas.
In the US you can’t live anywhere you want and expect a wage that allows you to save enough money to purchase capital, but there are always options available.
Capitalism pays those who provide capital if you do not invest in capital and complain it’s not working, that is a personal failure. Unless you truly make a low income in which case sadly no system is without tradeoffs, but at least in capitalism your family only needs to win once to have generational wealth. Also, there are paths available to increase your income in the future.
