The drawing is meaningless, it's just a fun sketch.

Fictionalized and reworked events based on my reflections on the Dornian Heresy.
Brother Sat'kan "Magma Crusher" is one of the many surviving Legionaries of the Heresy, a veteran Space Marine who, along with his father Vulkan and the Legion, abandoned the Traitor forces after the humiliating exile of the maddened Rogal.
After millennia of a war for survival—fought against the Imperium, Chaos-worshipping elements from other traitor Legions, the abominations of the roiling Warp, and various raiding parties—he, like many of his brethren, suffers from a deep melancholy. He is haunted by the memory of the betrayal and the life he led before the Heresy—a time before Nocturne was enslaved and subsequently consumed by the flames of the loyalists. Yet, unlike his kin, this sorrow ignites within him an all-consuming magma of rage. From this fury, he forged his hammer, "Dragon's Maw," and—following the custom of his brothers within the Cult of the Burning Promethean—he modified his own throat, installing an integrated flamer he calls "Hatred."

The Raven Guards where dying. Something was wrong with him, his genetic code was corrupted. No matter what Corvus did the new initiates of the legion rejected his gene seed, or worse, mutated and transformed into gibbering monstrosities. Weeks. Months. Corvus could no longer tell for how long he had been sat in his tower; or for how long he had spent in the laboratories trying to find a cure to the ailment afflicting his sons, but Corvus couldn't bear to kill them, so he imprisoned them in the darkest dungeons of Deliverance.
Until when in the dreary night, a Raven came to his door. It called itself the exile, whispering poisonous truths and sweet lies into the primarch's ear, it promised him that there was a way to save his sons. The primarch of the 19th legion, brought to the brink of insanity; consumed by a desire to save his legion, called out to a savior, and the Changer of Ways answered. The great Deciever reached into his mind and soul and rewarded him with the gift of Daemonhood, and put his touch on the legion. Now Corvus Corax and the Raven Guard serve Tzeetch, and the warmaster...

I might want to do another version with green background. I didn't want to finish the center of the helmet as it looks quite haunting now. Watercolor and pencil on paper.
