"LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- With eight days left to vote, former mayoral candidate Rick Caruso says he's voting for the person who defeated him four years ago, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
"I think like most Angelenos, I've struggled with the choices that we have, but I've given it a lot of thought, especially a lot thought over the weekend," Caruso told ABC7 Political Reporter Josh Haskell in an exclusive interview.
"I've looked at the records and I've made a clear decision of who I'm going to vote for...And that's going to be Mayor Bass," Caruso said.
Speaking about Mayor Bass, Caruso said "The last few months, almost a year, we've worked together and I saw a change. She has worked hard to learn from the mistakes of the past. I feel very strongly, because of my love for Los Angeles, I had to put the past behind me. This election, I believe, should not be a referendum of the past. It should be looking for the future of Los Angeles. And I think she's the most prepared to take us into the future of L.A."
..."I also feel strongly that Councilwoman Raman is not ready for the job. She's not prepared for the jobs. I think the positions she's taken with Chief McDonnell are reckless. I think it shows from my point of view as a former police commissioner and the president of the commission, the importance of that job cannot be overstated. And Jimmy McDonnell is regarded as one of the best chiefs of police in this country. The mayor made the right choice, appointing him. And Nithya Raman has continued to double down, saying she's going to remove him," Caruso said."

Due to increased ICE activity, we’re instituting a daily ICE megathread. All ICE-related content belongs here, including sightings, activity reports, news, questions, updates, and general discussion.
Centralizing discussion keeps information easy to find, especially for people moving around the city who want timely, relevant updates without having to sort through the entire subreddit. ICE-related content posted outside this megathread will be removed and redirected here.
This thread is sorted by New by default so the most recent information remains visible.
We recognize this is a tense topic and emotions can run high. That said, content that incites, encourages, or threatens violence will be removed, may result in a ban, and may also violate Reddit’s site-wide rules, which can carry site-wide consequences. Keep reports factual and grounded.
Include as many of the following details as possible:
Clear, accurate information helps everyone. Speculation and rumors do not.
(These are not moderated or verified by this subreddit. Use caution.)

Hello, I'm an independent documentarian in Los Angeles. I'm looking to cover young USPS (postal) workers who are pursuing something creative in their free time (acting, music, visual art, fashion, etc). If you happen to be/know someone who fits in this category, please PM me for more info!

The Citizen M hotel in DTLA proved that modular construction does not need to be this ugly. All the more tragic when you realize this site was already approved for a much nicer 17 story tower. https://www.hksinc.com/what-we-do/projects/5600-hollywood-boulevard. This new design removes TWELVE floors of housing a block from a major Metro station. We can do better and we deserve better.

Intense drama is brewing over wildlife in Atwater Village after a coyote attacked a toddler and was euthanized. Now officials are saying they could criminally charge a neighborhood resident for feeding the animal.
We first told you about this coyote, which neighbors dubbed Wiley, back in August. After the attack, some people started pointing fingers at the mother of the toddler, even going as far as calling Child Protective Services. KCRW's Alex Cohen has been following this very L.A. story.

if you're like me and enjoy voting in person, LA/County offers a Poll Pass that makes it super easy. you enter in your information, make your selections, and it generates a QR code you can scan when you go to the voting center (which are open now for early voting).
once you scan, it fills out all your selections and then you can review it as normal. saves time at the center and is nice to make selections from the comfort of your home.
