REC This post I saw is exactly what’s wrong with the community. His PG gets 31 assist and the guy is still mad haha we need more hoopers with IQ on the game

REC This is actually a fascinating look inside the mind of a ball hogging random rec PG.
In the first game he quits after halftime despite the fact that his team is winning because he's tired of getting double teamed and thinks he's being iced out.
His stats: 18 points in 14 possessions (11 shots, 3 TOS) =1.3 points per possession.
Rest of team: 28 points in 18 possessions = 1.6 points per possession.
He was less effective scoring than the rest of his team but was still convinced that he was the only reason they had the lead. Only 1 assist despite his teammates being able to score and him getting doubled all game. But instead of being a PG and taking advantage of the double team to rack up assists, he quits the game cause he can't score as much as he wanted.
Next game he's getting doubled again and has a center that's good at no dip shooting off the catch, but instead of feeding him, he's complaining about a lack of a screen. Why would the center set a screen when he's wide open for three and you're already being doubled? Just pass the ball for the easy wide open threes. But his only focus is getting points for himself, not the team.
He also says in the game that we're all here for the same reason. I thought he was going to say "Get a win" but nope. We're all here to score points. This is what your random rec PG is thinking. It's not about getting the win. It's about scoring points. And you know he's serious because he already quit out of a game he was going to win because he wasn't scoring enough points.
At the end of the 2nd game he blatantly ignores the wide open PF who only had 1 shot all game (that he made) to jack up another three to try and get 40. He somehow thinks he's owed that shot despite taking almost half the team's shots. And at the end of the game he's still convinced that he's the only reason for the win.
His stats: 37 points on 24 possessions.
Rest of the team: 50 points on 30 possessions.
Once again the rest of the team was more efficient than him but they rarely got the ball from him. They were 20/25 from the field despite only 3 assists from the PG and he's still convinced that he's the only reason they won.
It's honestly pretty crazy to see first hand what goes through the mind of a random rec ball hog. They don't see their teammates as real people. Just random NPCs that are there to help them score points.

REC I give up as a bigman
After playing in the REC, no squad, this truly is one of those games where being a bigman is just cardio sim. I grab my rebounds, I pass back out consistently. I try to set my screens (YALL IGNORE THE SCREENS WHILE I GOT HOF BRICK WALL) proceed to do 10 dribble moves to not even get open and miss. no lie, I passed it to my pg whole went 0/9 and had 10+ games where I don't get to ball. Not even to mention when I get the defensive rebound they all run to the other side of the court like its a football game.
Next build going to be a guard cause I cant play like this.

REC What playing with an Old Head PG looks like.
Probably my last video b4 26.
REC Why sell instead of quiting out?
Genuine question why sell instead of quitting out of a game? Wouldn't your time be more valuable just trying to get into another game?

REC 6’8-6’10 centers… I’m talking to you
I’m debating on a 6’8 or 6’9 build with high physicals, defense and rebounding. I haven’t ever given a 6’9 high rebounding before, but I wanted to hear how you guys have done with snagging rebounds in the REC as a smaller PF/C? Would it be a waste to try this or is it viable?

REC 2K25 is the worst one i’ve ever played.

REC Why don’t people take the time to learn how to play defense the same way they put time in to learn offense?
is it really that difficult to learn? if you’re giving up all of the points that you scored via backdoor cuts, isos and open threes, what exactly is the point?

REC Got 99 problems but Magic goat build animations ain’t one
I rest my case. I’m not going to brag like some of y’all on this Reddit how they “like that” lol but if you think the magic build is whack then I feel sorry for you. This is my most prolific game as a PG and I’ve ran PG for years. Magic is a total cheat code don’t let ‘em lie to ya.

REC Rec is unplayable
Courts are too small and players are too fast, teleportation block animations, passes being like throwing a beach ball, players getting rewarded for spamming the steal button 15 times each possession, the contest system being non existent.

Rec I’m a white guy who made a black character. To see if I would get the ball passed to me more.
I’ve been playing 2k since 2015 and have always made my build to look just like me. White, long hair and a beard. I’ve been hearing from friends who make they build to be black guys that they get passed the ball way more then they do on a build if they’re white, so I decided to try it out after getting the ball passed to me maybe 4 times WIDE OPEN in 4 straight games. Within one game of making my build black I already saw a difference. I went in as a guard and immediately got the ball passed to me to bring it up. They constantly let me bring it up and were feeding me when I was open. I payed 3 more games with this build, varying from SG and PG and the same results. The ball was getting FED to me, EVERY GAME. I switched back to my white PG and was froze out after one “bad” shot. I went in as my white center, stood wide open in the corner for 8 straight possessions, while the opposing center sat in the paint until I finally had enough. I went back to the black build and again seen an immediate difference. I’m honestly shocked by my results. I have been arguing with my friends that this doesn’t actually happen, for years but after my little experiment I couldn’t be more convinced. Do better 2k community, do better.
For reference. Both(white builds) I brought in were HOF banners. Center average 14, 8, 17. PG average 18, 11, 1.5 steals. Black Build( black card for 2 games, 1 bronze)

REC Leave the queue if you see this dude on your team
This dude is somehow starter 3 and was straight dog shit , 8 turnovers, calling using all timeouts when the pg dribbled slightly too long when the pg had deep bomber, held ball on inbounds and threw full court passes “see this why I do this cause you guys do that” when the sf took 1 dumb dunk
