Heyy I'm starting a community to help People who struggle with chronic illness or mental health. I'm new to Reddit and I really don't know what I'm doing... I'm trying my best haha. Anyways anyone interested in helping out as a mod or giving me some advice?

I've never been a mod of anything my own

What'll make people contribute? Or be interested in it?

And the first post, do i post something or should I wait for someone to??!!

I'm basically worse than a baby at this!!

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Took over mod responsibilities for an active city sub. What do you recommend?

I just put up wiki for the subreddit I managed but only me and the other mods can see it. I don't know where the enable Wiki is found. The current permission is Use Subreddit wiki permission and show list of wiki

TL;DR - Nominations for Mod Hall of Fame are officially open! Nominate fellow mods who went the extra mile this year by November 11th!

Hey new mods! Mod Hall of Fame season is here, and we’re excited to celebrate the mods who guide their communities with care, dedicate time to uplift fellow mods and Redditors, and make Reddit special. Like last year, we’re leaving it to you to spotlight outstanding mods and memorable community moments. We are also bringing back our Trailblazer category to celebrate new mods like you who have gone above and beyond to grow new communities.

What’s Mod Hall of Fame?

Mod Hall of Fame honors standout community leaders driving positive change on Reddit. It’s a program led by mods, for mods. Mods across Reddit submit nominations, and winners are chosen by a panel of mod judges.

Just like last year, the winners will be announced live during a virtual ceremony on December 11, 2026  (you can RSVP right now 👀)

How do I nominate a mod?

Starting today, you can nominate fellow mods to be considered for the following award categories:

• 🏆 Community Champions: Mods who shape their community's culture. They lead by example, encourage meaningful contributions, foster inclusivity, and make their communities feel like home.
• 🎉Event Extraordinaires: Mods who have created and executed outstanding events for their community. They create experiences that invite members to participate and spark connections or traditions that continue beyond the event itself.
• 🚀 Trailblazers: New mods who started modding this year or mods whose communities have recently shown rapid growth + sustained community building. They’ve built momentum by helping new or fast-growing communities thrive, welcoming new voices, and fostering meaningful participation.
• 🔥 Hot Helpers: Mods who go out of their way to help fellow mods or users in their own communities or mod support subreddits like r/NewMods and r/ModSupport. They go above and beyond to answer questions and mentor others, leading to healthier, more welcoming communities and more confident moderators.
• 🌟Veteran Visionaries: Longtime mods whose impact has been essential to the long-term success of their communities. Their ongoing care and judgment help their spaces adapt and thrive, while inspiring fellow mods to build sustainable communities of their own.

Nomination criteria

• The nominee must be an active mod.
  • We look at mod mail and moderator activity, as well as post/comment activity in owned communities, to determine activity status. Activity should be sustained over a period of time for someone to be considered an “active” moderator.
• Community impact should be focused on the mod’s leadership on Reddit within 2026.
• Nominations must include a short description and on-platform links demonstrating the nominee's contributions so our mod judges have enough context to evaluate them.

How will winners be determined?

• First, nominations will be reviewed by admins from Reddit’s community team.
• Then, the mod judge panel will choose the top three winners in each category using a point-scoring system based on community impact, leadership, etc.
• Winners will also pass a review by our Code of Conduct team and must accept their nomination before being featured.

Sounds good. How do I submit a nomination?

You can submit your nominations by November 11th, 2026 at 5:00 PM PST.

We are stoked to celebrate even more amazing mods and community moments with everyone, so thank you in advance for participating!

I mean, I'm so confused. I started this subreddit about 2 months ago, and I haven't done any promo for it, reposting, crossposting or anything of the sort. Yet somehow, I have over 40k visitors and 1.1k posts in the last week. I keep looking around and it doesn't seem to really be possible, so I'm very confused on how this happened. But hey, I'll take this win.

Things that worked for me is to be visible in relevant communites. Because most of the communities don't allow repost, so I stay visible by commenting or giving useful suggestions. Also post engaging and attractive content in my own subreddit r/NewToModesty.

Hey everyone, I’ve been running r/smokehub for about a month now. It’s focused on cannabis and everything that comes with it – growing, products, experiences, culture, you name it. I’ve been posting regularly (myself and some friends), set up the sub properly with rules, logo, banner and description, and I’ve also done quite a few crossposts. Still stuck at only 16 members though. Feels a bit demotivating at this point. Does anyone have tips that actually worked for them when their sub was in this early stage? Especially for a topic like this. Happy to hear any advice – what worked for you, what didn’t, or just general encouragement. Thanks in advance!

Cree una comunidad pero como se hace para que comenten o crezca ? r/amistades_mund

Created a new thread r/BASICHRIST for christians willing to join and help promote it! Im new to this whole reddit thing so i could use some advice

I want to know what is the important settings that I have to change before posting on it. Like flairs or roles. And what roles should u add?

Please help me.

Hello! I feel so happy with the amount of members I have in my subreddit but there are very few actual interactions. I get a few comments occasionally but rarely any posts other than mine. I was just wondering if this is normal? I’m sorry if I chose the wrong flair! I wasn’t sure which one to use because it’s definitely a win that I have 61 members already but I also wanted to ask that!

I run a group for RP players called "Werewoman Anonymous". It's a idea from Deviantart. It goes like this, men can change into women, women can change into men. There for the title "Werewomen" and "Weremen". My main problem is getting people to join the group. I know it's a small group but I want it to grow in size. Another problem is we get people but they don't contribute anything to the group. It's just silence after they join the group, they stop doing anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated in this matter.

How do I use them for finding members?

Does anyone know any good ways to promote a subreddit or get more people. I have started one recently and I have like 2 people on it and no body posting on it

i know this is extremely vague... any tips or tricks?

I ran into 2 issues almost immediately after creating my group.

First, I seem to have set things up so I have to approve every post, which I actively do not want to do. I've searched and can't figure out how to let things post without requiring moderation.

Also, I got banned from two related communities this morning for letting folks know this community exists. That's upsetting at best and obscene at worst -- one of them had nothing in their rules to indicate that introducing a new sub was against the rules, and it's a group I actively participate in and I'm pissed I'm banned. I want to post about it in more places, but not at risk of being banned from them.

How am I supposed to tell people this new sub exists if telling people this new sub exists gets me banned?
