Retro Build
My first PC build with some Noctua fans.

My custom "Steam Machine" in the Lian LI Dan A3 case, for couch gaming.
I originally used the Nh-D15 g2 cooler, but didn't have space for the Wireview pro 2, so went for Thermalright Phantom Spirit and replaced the stock fans with Noctua fans.
Originally had three bottom fans, but it got W bit tight for the GPU cable, so dropped the middle one.
The setup is a bit different from most builds i've seen in this case, as I have intake in the back (and bottom), and exhaust on top. Seems to work very well. Its a really nice case for small-ish builds!

I wanted something minimalistic 🖤
Here's what came out of it after sitting on parts for almost a year.
Specs if anyone is curious:
- HAVN BF 360 Flow case
- AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- Noctua NH-D15 G2 chromax.black
- MSI MAG X870E TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI
- G.Skill Flare X5 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
- Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD
- WD_Black SN850X 2TB NVMe SSD
- ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090
- ASRock Taichi TC-1300T 1300W 80 PLUS Titanium (ATX 3.1 / PCIe 5.1)
Given the price of gpu's nowdays having water above it was keeping me up at night.
this is the best I could do with the chonky lf3 420, should be able to fit the lc1 360 in a push pull on the side, just waiting for the chromax version...
/pokes noctua
Any word on that?

I just upgraded from a 12700k. I currently use a u12a that had the fans swapped out with some corsair RGB fans. Yes yes, flame me but they were quiet and I never noticed any noise. Now with the 270k It is a night and day difference on noise. Those corsairs sound terrible at high rpms.
Question for anyone who has the same cpu. Should I just throw the noctua’s back on and call it a day? Or can I see a big difference with noise if I put a d15 or another 140 cooler on?

Hi.
Couple of days ago i asked about AIO...but i rule that out cuz i would need whole new cas and all of that.
But i still like the idea of a new cooler.
I have smaller case (Fractal Design Focus G Mini) and i checked i can get D15S to fit.
Now i have U12S.
CPU is 5800X3D.
When i try the Aida64 test i get like 90.5C max (but that i stress).
When gaming i get around 75-85 depends on the game...all that with locked 60FPS.
Do you think the D15S will be better or not that much?
It is not about money(it is not that expensive) but iam in a "mood" for new CPU cooler :-)

Whats the best case for many noctuas? My budget is ~200€. I need atleast 3x 140mm fronpanel fans and 3x 140mm top fans.

270k RTX4080 in NZXT h6 flow with NH-D15S and 3 Chromax
Pcpartpicker says it wont fit but it does and works great, My cpu/gpu are at in the 50 60 degrees when gaming

So i have bought my Noctua NH-U12S cooler back in july 2020 to fit my AM4 system and im planning to upgrade my system to AM5 sooner or later. Gemini tells me the bracket holes are the same but i want to make sure as i hear it also depends on when exactly i've bought it because that original fan didnt fit AM4, only with the bracket adapters that came with my unit. So is it fully compatible with AM5 or do i need to obtain a different adapter for it?

I've been trying to organize my computer parts, but these ones are giving me a problem.
They're older parts and there are no product pages for them that I could find. Searching the internet I've seen both of them listed as NA-AV1 which doesn't seem right as Noctua is generally pretty good about using different part numbers even for parts that are very similar.
For what it's worth I believe the top version was the original and the bottom might be a newer revision though I think both may be discontinued at this point in favor of the longer versions.
It's not a terribly important question, but if anyone knows I'd like to label them correctly.

One of my 140 mm fans started rattling, so I have contacted Noctua support. I was guided to break one piece of the fan so they can send me a brand new one (very weird).
After many days of emailing them and waiting for the correct fan to arrive, they have sent me a wrong color fan (the ugly brown).
I have now my original black fan that was working but rattling a bit, which is now completely unusable, and another ugly brown fan that I have never ordered.
I thought Noctua is a reputable company that will never try to screw up their customers. Guess I was wrong...

I have a PC with Thermaltake view 71 argb full tower case. Stock fans worked fine, but after years all of them started making some rattling noise (which means bearings are worn out) and I want to change them.
I want to replace them with Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP chromax.black by the scheme on the 2nd photo. But as far as I understand (1st photo) my case needs 3 vents on the top?
What happens if I put 2 of them instead of 3?

Had a go at fitting the Noctua GPU and D15-G2 into the lian Li vision in vertical orientation.
As I wanted to retain 2 exhaust fans on the rear with the motherboard in the upper position, there was some shoehorning needed.
I custom made a GPU riser to move the GPU 30mm to the right to give rear fan clearance behind, while managing it to sit 2mm off the lower case fans.
I moved the D15 to the upper cooling position on my 9800X3D to give 5mm clearance on the GPU.
And with all that the Noctua GPU squeezed in there
As you can see, CPU idle is in the 30s, and runs in the 70s on cinebench benchmark. GPU tops out in the 60s still, cooling is pretty efficient, - this is all at 24 degrees ambient room temp.
Also 3D printed flashing set to tidy it all up wrapped in walnut.
I feel like it’s missing the heart of the build w/o the aio but idk what I’d do with the extra fans lol
Noctua recommends one intake and one exhaust for my pc case, but I have heard the top intake fan has marginal benefits and is arguably worse?
Would it be better to have one top exhaust fan?
I have the north xl edition of this case that also has a glass side panel and will be using:
3x NF-A14x25 G2 for front intake
1x NF-A12X25 G2 for back exhaust

Just finished my first-ever PC build, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!
When I first started shopping for parts, I fell in love with Noctua the moment I saw their signature brown and beige fans. I know their colors aren’t for everyone, but something about that classic look just clicked with me. I knew right away that I wanted to build my entire PC around that aesthetic.
So I started looking for a case with real wood accents, something that would complement Noctua’s warm colors instead of clashing with them. That’s when I stumbled across the newly released Fractal Summit, which had only come out last month.
Since it was so new, I couldn’t find anyone who had paired it with a full Noctua setup yet. But the moment I saw that walnut frame, I already knew this combination was going to look amazing.
And now that it’s finally built, I swear the Fractal Summit was made with Noctua in mind. The walnut wood, black interior, and brown fans complement each other so naturally. It’s almost like they were designed together.
No RGB, no flashy lights. Just walnut, black metal, and some beautiful brown fans.
Specs:
Case: Fractal Design Summit Black TG Walnut
CPU: Intel Core i7-12700
Cooler: Noctua NH-U12A
GPU: PowerColor Hellhound RX 9070 XT
Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi
PSU: MSI PRO A1000PL 1000W Platinum
Fans: Noctua NF-A12x25 G2
For my first-ever build, I’m pretty proud of how it turned out.
