I know i'm probably going to get a lot of hate because of this, but i don't really understand why people despise Size Matters so much.
I'm not saying it's perfect, because it is far from being that, but dudes constantly shit on it like if they totally forget that this was a PSP game after all.
Expecially Youtubers, in every ranking video i see (or generally speaking any video that talks about R&C and Size Matters gets mentioned in it) they always talks about it like if it was the Satan of gaming, and worst of all they rarely barely even care to give a proper explaination for this hate; they always remain utterly vague and generic on the reasons they give, and most of them i feel like they are only personal and subjective matters rather than objective ones.
Like the arguments are always "yeah i hate that bossfight with Luna", ok, i hated the bossfight with the Biobliterator in R&C 3 too (which is even the very final boss of the game itself, so one can argue it's even worse in this scenario of it to be bad) but i still fucking love the game, and it's my favourite.
"But most of the weapons were boring, they were uninspired and just a copy and paste of the past games", which was basically a tradition at that point...?
Since Going Commando most of the weapons we had were just a reskin/rename of weapons that already appeared in past games, because they are iconic.
"The grafic was bad", it's a PSP game ðŸ˜
And so on...
I'm gonna repeat that surely this is NOT a perfect game at all, it's far from that actually, but to always put It straight up in D tier everytime? Nah man, that's absolute slander.
Considering that D tier is the same tier where people generally put in mobile games too, like R&C going mobile etc... You can't tell me Size Matters is on the same level of those c'mon 🫩
Maybe i'm biased, because Size Matters is actually the first R&C game i've ever played, and it's the one that introduced me to the series and made me buy the first trilogy and absolutely eat it with passion and enjoyment, but i still think that people tend to be way more harsher than they should be with the game, it has many flaws, but has a good amount of positive points too, at least in my opinion.
Lemme know what you think

Was it just to equalise it mechanically with the helipack? What was the need for that? To me they ruined it. Totally. I love thrusting forward after you jump or thrust upwards; and the body slam.
One of many things that make the first game unique and the best, albeit not for the right reason.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
If anyone doesn’t know this method, you pretty much put a couple of small pumpkins on the circle button to hold it down while you get a bunch of bolts with your taunter.

A small visual screw-up I can't help noticing each time I see this cutscene which kinda bothers me even though it's not such a big deal.

If you play through the first game of Ratchet and Clank, you can get Gold Weapons but wait a minute who built them, why are they green, and if they're different Weapons why do you already need the Weapons to upgrade them and did slim go to jail for building an arsenal of irritated Weapons that Ratchet found?
This combined with the fact no Weapons that produce waves or circle around Ratchet are Gold or maybe Slim was caught before he finished them not by the police but by Ratchet meaning he had to turn over his Weapons he bought for safety which is why you don't have them and why they'd be weaker till you buy the new Gold Weapons in game 2.
I think there is a bigger story with the Gold Weapons.

I'm at the end of the deplanetiser (the second visit) and I melee'd one of the flying warbots who was stuck at the far left door where enemies come from, And it closed as soon as I did that, squeezing me into the barrier and trapping me past it. Causing me to walk further to look for a possible exit and I ended up at the edge. Obviously nobody was supposed to be here, but this is very interesting.
Oh well. At least I have Mr Zurkon and Clank.
Edit: I jumped out and was able to float for a while until I died. putting me at the start of that section

On the one hand Ratchet 3 nefarious army had both his robots and tyranoids while on the other hand the crack in time army was huge and made of better tech then Ratchet 3's and he had the space station and a big part of the clock while rift aparts army is the biggest and super advanced.
Im a bit mixed if we should give the Ratchet 3's army the 2 biobliteratos but to be fair crack in times army has the space station. Maybe even the clock.
Rift aparts army dosent really have a super weapon. Its mostly just a huge army.

This game is the reason I bought a PlayStation, and it holds a special place in my heart, but I just don't want to play it for like the 6th time for these achievements. However, I am so close I can taste it

21 years ago (October 25, 2005) Insomniac Games released Ratchet: Deadlocked for PS2.
Interestingly, it is only game in the series that does not have 'Clank' in the title (original NTSC version).
Even more interestingly, this does not apply to versions released outside of USA one month later. While European title is only slightly changed to 'Ratchet: Gladiator', in Japan the game is called 'Ratchet & Clank 4th: Force Gigabattle of the Last Minute Galaxy' and in Korea 'Ratchet & Clank: One-on-One Tool Champ'.

Yeah I know I am a bit late, but like before I fully began to get into Ratchet and Clank as a whole, I hated the movie once I heard they changed the entire story of the 2002 game. And I kinda delusioned myself that it was as if an alternate universe than canon.. ðŸ˜
But I been hoping Ratchet and Clank to have content outside of the games (especially with hiatus) and yet the movie wasn't well recieved, and nobody knew about that one short that was only streamed in Canada with no advertisements. So considering I find Life of Pie a good (unserious) short, I decided to watch the movie..
So starting with the large piece, it's very obvious that they did change a lot to appeal to the standard hollywood critic (it's in 2016 mind you), though it's... Not bad-ish?
Like I do like the idea of Galactic Rangers, especially Elaris (which personally made the movie more enjoyable), as well it kinda makes sense for Ratchet to be raised by Grim, 'cause like if Kaeden left Ratchet when he was a child then who did? It somewhat fills some tiny plot holes that was unnoticeable but it doesn't elevate how they did with the villains.
I mean Derek seemed more of a comedic relief of a villian than erm... ' Level 1 ' of it?? He literally was the one with the idea to destroy planets to take a piece of it and add it to his new planet, you're telling me he is incompetent? And Dr. Nefarious didn't do much of a fight or even a struggle.
Ratchet :
- The main character himself! As much I do miss his snarky and hot-headed personality, he is fine in his movie-self, actually very enjoyable! I do dislike how uhm.. What's it called? " Perfect dialog preference " he is... Like there isn't any reason why he would immediately do everything on the go and such without even a second head of suspicion.
Like SUUURE you could say he is careless, but it only appeared PHYSICALLY when comes to the very first appearance of his. Like not once we have seen him having a flaw that makes him deep as a character or such. And no, clumsy is not considered as they make that apart of the main character's personality every time. If I am being honest it's like " stereotypical teenager ".. And it sucks that he is treated that way. He isn't that insufferable tho but he is underutilized.
Clank :
- SPEAKING OF UNDERUTILIZED. It says Ratchet and CLANK, yet HE BARELY HAS A SCENE OF HIS OWN OTHER THAN BEING CHASED BY THAT BIG ROBOT LIKE WHAT THE HECK? I genuinely don't know what to say about him because he been done so poorly in the movie. The only time he acts on his own for his own is when battling against the war bots in hall of heros. Specifically when he has to ride the ship and such yada yada.
And the ending doesn't make it any better, because due to how much he doesn't interact with Ratchet, it doesn't make the reason of him going back to him make sense. Atp Ratchet interacted with Qwuark more than Clank.
Qwuark :
- Tbh he is the closest to the original out of all two which is IRONIC! Especially since he acts as a traitor in the game and movie. He is egoistic, bath in heroism, and can be nonsensical. Even though I don't like how he made him serious, considering how drastic they did to the main characters, imma take it.
Derek :
- Eh... He is okay? Forgettable as heck, and like super different compared to og.
Dr. Nefarious :
- I do like how he used to work for the Galactic Rangers but because of poor funding and work place he just become a mad scientist. Especially since nobody was listening to Elaris and didn't do the same to him in the past 💔.
Though, he really feels like more composed version of the doctor, like literally, he didn't crash out even once ans you tell me that's the same guy? Idk man...
Now, an amazing concept can be considered as a bad story if the execution was bad, and a bad concept can be the vice versa. Aaaand the movie eased the bad with its good execution, the animation is great and so does the lighting, and the voice acting is good and immersive! There is alot of background details that is easy to miss like that one Josh Hutcherson magazine pose with Qwuark doing it. Uhh don't ask why I know that... Well I was Josh-rolled very much to recognize but I doubt THAT'S the intention as the meme only came out in 2023.
BUUUTTT the story wasn't done to the fullest as well there isn't a meaningful arcs happens in the movie, plus the pace is way to quick to even to get to know more about the characters.
If I had to rate it, it would be 5.5/10, it just needed a better execution and a better idea.. Like I REALLY hope Sony doesn't base that movie as to see if people want a Ratchet and Clank series or content outside the games or not because they did NOT do justice for that franchise.
And I hate that it implies that they see the movie perfectly fine and that it's just it doesn't have a " dedicated fanbase ".
And yeah here is my thoughts!! (literally wrote it as I am tired so like... Bare with me 🥀)

Some time ago I've beaten the first Ratchet & Clank game from PS2, and dropped the second part on race section (they're too difficult and you can't skip them). Should I get back or maybe just skip to PS3 games? Or even just play Rift Apart
sorry if this is a dumb question
