Hey everyone, I'm conducting research on California as a sanctuary state. I'd really appreciate it if you could take a moment to participate in my anonymous survey on this topic. The survey is completely anonymous and will only be used for my research. Thank you very much for your help.

taking the train from sac to sf, how intimidating is it actually?

thinking about taking a day trip to san francisco, but i refuse to drive in the bay and would be relying entirely on public transportation.

for anyone who’s made the journey:
which route did you take, and which would you recommend for a first timer?

are the transfers relatively straightforward, or is it easy to get confused?

i’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences! i want to explore the city without having to worry about driving or parking. :)

Sac Intl Airport Exit

If you have a flight tonight or in the morning, allow yourself extra time to get to the airport.

Not sure what’s going on but it’s literally bumper to bumper getting off the exit.

The one lane exit is miles long.

Is $37k a year enough?

Moving to Sacramento. Will be living with 2 other people and we'll all be sharing rent. It's a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom house. No kids, no dependents.

I'm in my 20's. I don't really go out or party, I don't have any loans, and I work from home. Will $37k a year (before taxes) be enough?

Looking to get my first tattoo soon and hoping somebody can recommend an artist who can do a price similar to these. I plan on doing a sleeve of sort of my bucket list catches. I would really like somebody that can capture this intricate designs and details as seen in some above. I’m not going for hyper realistic but also not cartoonish. Anybody in the sac or Stockton area please

Contractor recommendations

Discovered a bit of dry rot on siding then pulled it off to see that it started affecting some of the structural wood of our house. Some contractors have told us it was due to how the window trim was placed and it not being caulked however they quoted an absurd amount. Looking for reasonably priced and affordable contractor recommendations that specialize in this kind of work. Thanks!!

Disappointed at Temple SMF

I love Temple, have always lived a few blocks away from one, whether it was K street, then S street, and now H street. I was excited to learn that SMF would be getting a Temple coffee. What I already considered one of the best airports in the state, was getting one of my favorite coffee spots. Well I finally got a chance to get a drink at Temple SMF today, and I was saddened to see that they use fully automated "espresso" machines like everyone else (Eversys Cameo). The output is awful. It's basically a Starbucks with Temple branding.

Sacramento metro playgrounds map

Inspired by a post over in the Davis subreddit, I made a map for myself to make it easier to find parks to take my kids.

All the data is scraped public data at this point with plans to be able to add my own photos over time, maybe community photos too if others are interested in contributing. But I primarily built it for myself as a tool that I need now.

Did I build it with AI? Of course, I made this in one day. Are there bugs? Yes. But Im not trying to sell anything. Just wanted to share and I think other parents will appreciate it as much as I do

I need help taking things to the dump on Friday. I don’t have a truck.

I’m willing to pay someone with a strong back and a truck to help me take a good amount of the stuff in my storage unit to the dump. Mice got in and destroyed a huge portion of what I own. While I’m heart broken it’s too late so I just need help lifting loading and dumping the ruined stuff. Based on what my friends and I got done today it’ll be a 3 hour job. I’m willing to pay 20 an hour and gas.
I’m broke or I’d offer more.

In search of large photos. Art, etc for my new apartment

Hi! Not exactly sure what I'm looking for but I've been on the hunt for larger artwork for my space. Willing to spend up to a few hundred dollars but want something unique that fits my space. I typically buy from estate sales, thrift stores, etc but am open to other suggestions as well.

Anyone know where to look for estate sales in the sacramento area, or have any other suggestions of places to look?

Hello, I'm looking for referrals for a good team of deep cleaners who can come in for 3-4 hours at a time and clean a 3 bedroom 2 bath home in South Sacramento once a month. Budget is flexible, we're curious to understand what is typical hourly rate for deep cleaning.

Thanks all!

1999 Implants?

I'm looking for reviews for dental implants with Dr. Sunny Badyal. He advertises $1,999 implants on billboards around the greater Sacramento area. I'm staring down a $20k+ dental bill due to needing 4 implants, so I'm hoping he's the real deal. 🫠

I know medical tourism is also a thing, so if you popped down to Mexico to get your tooth implant and have anything to share in that realm, please do.

House Number - Curb Painter

I just moved into a new spot and my house numbers are hidden behind a lovely tree I don’t want to trim. Curious what is might cost to have someone paint my house number on the curb so delivery folks can find me easier.

Lost wallet near Flamingo House (2315 K Street) around 1am on Sunday 10/25

Hi all!

I know this is a long shot, but can anyone help me find my wallet? It is small and is made of brown leather. A very simple, masculine wallet (although I am a woman).

I lost my wallet last night when leaving silent disco at the Flamingo House around 1:30am. I was sober, so all I can think is that it fell out of my pocket unbeknownst to me. I know I had it when I was leaving because I exchanged the headphones for my ID and then promptly put my ID back into my wallet. I have retraced my steps, checked my friend's entire vehicle, and checked all over my home. None of my cards have been used, so I don't suspect that it has been stolen/picked up by a thief. I plan to call Flamingo House when they open tomorrow.

If anyone has any idea or found a wallet last night, it would be so helpful. I need to leave back to the bay area tonight because I nanny for my brother tomorrow. I quit my job to do that for him while going to school and do not have the means now to replace all of the items in my wallet if need be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Finding a home for an extremely friendly stray cat

Post image
56 Upvotes

A stray has been hanging around my place for the past week or so and im looking for a forever home for it. It is extremely friendly to people and strangers, will even let us pick it up. I am personally of the belief it was abandoned here by its original owners as it very much gives off inside cat vibes and its very used to humans. Its not doing well outside unfortunately, its skinny and may be getting a little sick. Im not sure of the gender or if it is fixed. It looks to be about adult or perhaps late teenager aged. Black and very fluffy. I would bring it inside myself but I already have cats and they dont take to other cats well. SPCA Isnt being any help. Ive already asked around and all my neighbors don’t claim it. I am willing to drive it to you myself but I do ask for a payment of $20. I would prefer not to but this is simply to hopefully ward away people who would wish to harm it. You may message here or my phone number, 916-430-7072.

Looking for a Financial Planner/Advisor

I'm in search of a fiduciary financial planner. Someone that will review my finances and give me advice and recommendations for a fee. I want to make sure I'm on the right path to retirement. I don't want to invest with this company as I do that myself. I'm having difficulty finding someone that will just give me advice.

Mechanic who specializes/has experience with Honda ct 110s?

I recently got a Honda CT 110, and love it. I think it probably needs it once over to identify any issues and address any that are currently needed. I’m not super mechanically inclined, and I don’t know where to bring it to get work done on it. If Barber’s automotive was still around I would likely bring it there, but since they’re closed, not sure which mechanic might have experience/specialization in small bore Honda motorcycles.

Anyone have any leads?

Seeking good massage therapist for chronic pain/injury/scoliosis etc

Hi! I have severe scoliosis which resulted in a painful spinal fusion about a decade ago, then I was in a car wreck about 7 years ago that made things worse and I have a frozen shoulder and bulging discs, plus the titanium rods in my spine cause pain too. As I’m getting older, I’m experiencing more pain, and usually massage helps A LOT!
I had a good massage therapist for a few years but due to life circumstances she had to retire and is no longer doing it. So I came on here several months ago and asked for recommendations!

The first person I tried looked awesome but was totally full and not accepting new clients. The second CMT didn’t respond. I tried a third local CMT and she responded, sounded cool and had openings, so I bought a package and booked an appointment and they literally just canceled on me, 3 hours before the appointment 😳

So, I’d love some new recommendations! I don’t care if they work out of their house or at a clinic, just as long as they are good at what they do!

Thank you!!🙏😊
