Looking for a Financial Planner/Advisor

I'm in search of a fiduciary financial planner. Someone that will review my finances and give me advice and recommendations for a fee. I want to make sure I'm on the right path to retirement. I don't want to invest with this company as I do that myself. I'm having difficulty finding someone that will just give me advice.

House Number - Curb Painter

I just moved into a new spot and my house numbers are hidden behind a lovely tree I don’t want to trim. Curious what is might cost to have someone paint my house number on the curb so delivery folks can find me easier.

Contractor recommendations

Discovered a bit of dry rot on siding then pulled it off to see that it started affecting some of the structural wood of our house. Some contractors have told us it was due to how the window trim was placed and it not being caulked however they quoted an absurd amount. Looking for reasonably priced and affordable contractor recommendations that specialize in this kind of work. Thanks!!

Tile remnants

Previous owners of our house left a number of boxes of small amounts of tile. Great for repairs, but not enough to tile anything. We can't use them for repairs because those tile jobs were remodeled away at some point.

In San Francisco there was a store that carried this kind of thing so people could find out-of-fashion tiles to repair their existing bathrooms and kitchens. Like, before we moved we bought a small box of tile to repair cracked tiles in the kitchen of our San Francisco house. The color was out of style and that small amount of tile was a godsend.

Is there any store like that in Sacramento? I'd just donate the tiles, not sell them.

Sacramento metro playgrounds map

Inspired by a post over in the Davis subreddit, I made a map for myself to make it easier to find parks to take my kids.

All the data is scraped public data at this point with plans to be able to add my own photos over time, maybe community photos too if others are interested in contributing. But I primarily built it for myself as a tool that I need now.

Did I build it with AI? Of course, I made this in one day. Are there bugs? Yes. But Im not trying to sell anything. Just wanted to share and I think other parents will appreciate it as much as I do

Tips for finding stolen e bike?

My Rad power e bike was stolen from my (locked) back courtyard in midtown on H. Is there any hope of finding it? I’ve been scouring Facebook and Craigslist? And have called a few pawn shops. Is there anything else I can really do? I don’t think calling the cops would really do anything beyond being saying they’ll keep an eye out.
Anyways, if anyone sees a Rad Power E bike in midtown please let me know

Anyone from Sacramento try the Groupon Mystery Getaway?

Has anyone from Sacramento purchased the Groupon Mystery Getaway, Gate B Departure, for $250?

If you did, how was your experience? What destination did you get, and was it worth the $250?

I'm thinking about purchasing it and would love to hear from people who have tried it.

Thanks!

I need help taking things to the dump on Friday. I don’t have a truck.

I’m willing to pay someone with a strong back and a truck to help me take a good amount of the stuff in my storage unit to the dump. Mice got in and destroyed a huge portion of what I own. While I’m heart broken it’s too late so I just need help lifting loading and dumping the ruined stuff. Based on what my friends and I got done today it’ll be a 3 hour job. I’m willing to pay 20 an hour and gas.
I’m broke or I’d offer more.

Pocket levee access when?

I read the October inside Sacramento article about the city finalizing the case against the illegal fences on the levee roads in the pocket. I'm aware this case is a ridiculously long legal battle between multiple agencies and the homeowners, but it feels vaguely like there might actually be genuine momentum this time. Does anyone know more about the potential timeline?

I just walked to the fence near the westine hotel, which used to be a simple chain link you could push over, and is now permanently built with cement filled post holes and cameras. I cannot wait to see the full length of the river walkable and this bullshit removed. It's so sad to think of the generations of people born and raised in this area without access to their river

Corti Brothers has several cheeses from Rogue Creamery.

If you're not familiar, Rogue Creamery is located outside of Medford in Oregon. S tier cheese shop. Has won several international awards. According to this article they're the first ever American cheese company to win the World Cheese Award: https://thatoregonlife.com/2026/10/rogue-river-blue-cheese-oregon-world-champion-rogue-creamery-central-point/

I was pleasantly surprised to see several of their cheeses at Corti Brothers yesterday. Super yum. Learn about their cheeses here: https://roguecreamery.com/

I swear I'm not affliated with Rogue Creamery or Corti's in anyway, just love their cheese. Their Caveman Blue and Rogue River Blue are top. Their Oregon Blue is really nice too, the cheapest of the lot, a bit more mild and approachable.

Mechanic who specializes/has experience with Honda ct 110s?

I recently got a Honda CT 110, and love it. I think it probably needs it once over to identify any issues and address any that are currently needed. I’m not super mechanically inclined, and I don’t know where to bring it to get work done on it. If Barber’s automotive was still around I would likely bring it there, but since they’re closed, not sure which mechanic might have experience/specialization in small bore Honda motorcycles.

Anyone have any leads?

VintedGo Locations?

Hi!

Anyone else ship on Vinted? Why are the drop off locations for VintedGo (SpeedX) packages so sketchy??

Maybe it's just me, but every one I have been too has either been not open at the correct hours, or gives super weird vibes in the stores themselves.

Please let me know if you have a reliable location you use on a regular basis for these drop offs.. if you look at their location list, it's all small businesses. Which would be fine if they were open on time and weren't so off..

Thanks!

Looking to social events to make friends.

So I'll be moving to Sacramento next month but I've lived nearby and would commute to sac a lot for years, but I never was able to really build a social group out here and as sad as it sounds, I need some help finding some friends. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what's available in sac in terms of events, social gatherings, or just fun things to do that encourages meeting new people.

Is $37k a year enough?

Moving to Sacramento. Will be living with 2 other people and we'll all be sharing rent. It's a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom house. No kids, no dependents.

I'm in my 20's. I don't really go out or party, I don't have any loans, and I work from home. Will $37k a year (before taxes) be enough?

Recommendations for moderately priced fun dinner near Arden Fair Mall

Dating myself here but the only ones I can come up with have long closed: CA cafe, Max’s cafe, buca de Beppo. Please help!

ETA: thank you all so much for the suggestions! I’m bookmarking this post for future reference. We ended up at La Porta on Howe. It was very good- we had the bacon Brussels sprouts appetiser and a pear/gorgonzola/procuitto pizza. All very delicious and great service and ambiance! Would recommend! We then went to see “Wicker” at the century theaters. Highly recommended!

Hand car wash with interior in the sac area?

I don’t want to go through an automatic car wash and I want somebody who can do a more thorough job on the interior than I can. Is there anyplace that’s good that I don’t need an appointment?

Why were riverboats used so late into Sacs history?

I was in old town and on the Delta King. The king was built in the 20s well after rail connections between SF and Sac. A quick Wikipedia search says that the highway killed ferry service, but why would this be true if for so long you could take the train instead?

Gerber pet Cemetery

Does anyone remember the Gerber Road Pet Cemetery from the ’80s and ’90s? 🐾🎃 It was way out in the middle of nowhere, with little bridges, beautiful statues, and such a unique, almost magical atmosphere. I remember going there in 4th or 5th grade for a Halloween party, and it was the perfect kind of spooky! 👻 I’ve been thinking about that place lately and wondering if anyone else remembers it. Does anyone happen to have any photos of the pet cemetery from back then? I would LOVE to see them and take a little trip down memory lane! ❤️🕯️
