Discussion Russ?
I know the rule is it has to be someone with 1 year left on their contract. Does that also include free agents or no? Just seems like it’s the perfect time for a Russ retirement tour.

100% Confirmed Sucks. This was a potential GOAT season that could have surpassed the 96 Bulls etc.
It was certainly possible this year. Could have been on par with the 96 Bulls and they would have won the title too unlike the Warriors that blew that big 3-1 lead. .. They could beat 95 percent of the league playing their B and C level ball. And then bring their A level ball to the Spurs/Sixers etc.

Discussion "Right now, it's about those two guys" - Presti
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
When asked what he's thinking about on moves going forward, Presti said he hasn't had time to think about that yet and right now, he's just concentrating on the Jalen and Cason. We are very lucky to have someone as thoughtful and measured as Presti and my hope is that we as a fanbase can follow his lead.
Obviously, the last 24 hours have been devastating for the organization and us fans. There's a lot of huge questions that have to be answered in the coming weeks, but they don't have to be answered right this second. Right now, let's just focus on the the human elements in all of this. Lets show nothing but love and support to Jalen and Cason, as well as all the other guys in the locker room.
If Sam isn't currently banging his head against the wall about roster moves, then us random fans probably don't need to be spending every waking second posting speculation on here about who they are going to trade away and what shakeups have to happen and all of that.
In other words, if you're about to make the 17th different post about "Time to bring Brodie back.", then maybe just chill for a minute. Sam's got this. He's going to make the moves that he feels are best for the organization and I have nothing but trust that he's going to do his best to steer the ship through these choppy waters.

Discussion Would it be out of the question to take a “gap year” this season?
With 2 starters out indefinitely, nobody’s stopping us from shutting down our stars and using the season to develop young talent like Mara, Topic, Stirtz, and others. I find it perfectly reasonable to give this season a pass. The Pacers did it last year and no one questioned anything. It was completely reasonable given that their franchise player missed the entire season. Losing 2 starters to injury has a similar impact to losing a franchise player to injury.
With luck, we could get a Cooper Flagg or Cade Cunningham type of player in the draft next year if the lottery falls our way. We could get a future franchise cornerstone to pair with SGA.

Tankathon Circlejerk Hope: Thunder will have the #1 overall pick in the 2027 draft
No, it's not gonna be their pick. I know everyone's bummed after that Presti presser where it sounds like Dub and Cason are out for the season BUT wouldn't there be no better karmic justice to inflict on the Clippers than their 2027 pick landing #1 after the lottery reform and OKC swapping them
I know this is apparently a weak draft class but Presti would have so many options whether it be trading it away, trading back, or just taking who he thinks is the best player in the draft
Edit: changed "conflict" to "inflict"

Discussion Fibula vs Tibia fracture is a meaningful and important difference
There aren't positives to take from today's news. It's a very dark day for Thunder fans and I feel for you all. It sucks. It sucks to see one of our best teams not be whole.
With that being said, there is one silver lining here regarding JDub's injury...the fibula is not the weight bearing bone in the leg and depending on the degree of fracture and location which Presti said is on the upper left side, may not require surgery. Won't assume what the case is here but a fibula is a much lower recovery time. A tibia fracture is season ending. Fibula fractures themselves are not.
A lot of the timeline is going to depend on the level of the fracture and the amount of associated tissue and ligament damage. That's why Presti didn't make any conclusive statement on JDub's outlook and why he hasn't been declared out for the season. Let's hope he avoided significant associated damage and let's hope for a relatively clean fracture.
As it stands now the timelines should be pretty much looked at in tandem. Depending on what doctors see it isn't impossible JDub actually returns quicker. Labrum unfortunately is basically guaranteed ~5-6 months but Caso without a setback will be likely back this season.

Thunder Vs.Everyone They need us now more than ever
I know the injuries are DEVASTATING. But now more than ever our guys need us to rally behind them, to be the loudest and most supportive fans ever. We still love this team, and they can still do some amazing things this season!! We will still play 82 games regardless of what happens, so let’s rally behind our guys for every single game and show our support. Like Presti said, Dub and Caso will come back, they’re resilient and tough.
