Went faster than usual. Yay, I guess?

Looking for recommendations for myself and my sons. My boys decided that they wanted to try airsoft. I thought, "you know, i played for a few years. It will be fun. Lets go."

Now, my hyperfocus brain wont allow me to stop thinking about anything else. 😂 With that said, my largest gripes about gear the last time i played was lack of ambidextrous equipment(rifle replicas more specifically).

With the idea of cost, reliability, and ease of use(for the kids) I am humbly asking for recommendations for rifle replicas with full ambidextrous controls(selector, mag release).

Introduction: I'm in an engineering class creating a product for airsoft called the Ammo-link. I am conducting some research so if you want to fill out the form I would be grateful. Even if you don't like the idea please fill it out so I don't have misleading data.

The product idea:

We have come up with the idea that loading airsoft magazines is tedious. It's a task no one wants to do and it takes up the most time when getting ready for a game. To solve this problem I am creating a powered hopper that is either attaches to the back of a plate carrier or to a belt. This hopper feeds a line a bbs directly into your gun so you don't have to worry about reloading. Its like the chain feed of a LMG but for airsoft. The hopper will have sound dampening like the oden speed loaders so it wont rattle like a usually hi-cap magazine. I am planning on having it hold around 3000-5000 bbs.

Hey everyone, just got this aps acp (for free) just wanted to know if anyone knows the problem? trigger doesnt want to reset and stays locked back when i pull the trigger. it goes back whenever i rack the slide however.

Ive been trying to find a teardown guide on the g&g CM18 MOD1 that goes over how to fully disassemble the barrel, nut and upper receiver. As I had damaged it during a game.

I plan to replace the broken parts with metal versions if possible. Any help with this would be appreciated

Am I the only one who wants to buy an airsoft rifle mainly to customize it?

I recently bought a second-hand Specna Arms SA-B01, and honestly, what excites me the most is not actually playing airsoft.

I just love the idea of having an M4-style platform, taking it apart, changing the handguard, stock, grip, sights, accessories, trying different builds, then putting it back together again.

Basically, I want to treat it almost like a mechanical hobby or model-building project.

Maybe one day I’ll actually start playing airsoft, but right now I’m much more interested in building and customizing the replica itself than participating in simulated battles.

Is anyone else into airsoft mainly for this side of the hobby?

To me it seems to be on a decline. Living in New England all I see are fields closing left and right. And the fields that are open are having a lower turnout than usual and I find myself playing about 2 games and heading out. I live in Connecticut so if anyone has any field recommendations let me know.

are there any airsoft versions of the 6940? a friend of mine wants to clone this rifle but he's not sure about there being anything close enough. thx

This is the barrel for a HK G36C airsoft. It is an electric if that makes a difference. I was tring to take the muzzle off so I could put an external tracer on and I was trying to figure out if there were thread because Google said there were and I broke it. I can't find just the plastic bit that the metal barrel sides into.

I tested out a mag on my ak and it was tight at first but gave in, now any mag that I put in the ak is loose.

From up top under the dust cover it looks like the plastic on one side is broken. My question is how would you fix this? Is it possible to replace this part of the gun?

Edit: also forgot to add that every time that I inserted that particular mag in it appeared to move to entire internals of the gun as well, I know it was a dumb idea to keep inserting the mag but I wanted to find out what the problem was haha.

The 5ku stock says it’s a 1 hinge pin mount made for triangle style folding stocks and only mentions triangle style stocks but I don’t know would this mount to the 105 fine even if it’s a 74m style folding stock I can’t find much on this

I changed my mini tamiya plug on my g&g mg42 for a deans plug, I started using a slightly stronger battery and now my fuse blew.
I don’t see any issues with the wiring anywhere so I think it’s just the battery. Is it safe/will it work if I just start using a 30A fuse instead of a 25A fuse?

I was looking to buy my first airsoft and i found a really good-looking full metal and wood AK74U from DBoys i didn't find anything much about it so i was wondering if any of you knew if it was good or bad the asking price is 300 Bucks thanks for the help :D

I wanna buy the EMG mk18 from taiwangun but i read about some issues with the stocks breaking off. Is the issue universal to all quick change receivers or are some brands more susceptible to it? Are there any other issues i might not be aware of?

I’m currently working on a Malyuk AEG build, and I’m trying to figure out a different trigger setup.
Ideally, I’d like to use a microswitch in the front grip instead of having a mechanical linkage connecting the front trigger to the gearbox.
The problem is figuring out how to keep semi-auto, full-auto, and the original fire selector fully functional.
I also have a Perun V3 Hybrid as an option, but I’m running into a dilemma:
If I install the Perun at the front, I lose the ability to use the original fire selector.
If I install it in the gearbox, I still need a mechanical linkage between the front trigger and the gearbox trigger.
I’m running out of ideas at this point 😅
Has anyone done something similar with a bullpup AEG, or found a way to use a remote microswitch while keeping the original fire selector working?
Any ideas, wiring solutions, or examples would be massively appreciated!
