Another DAZN vent post. I am willing to pay a subscription to watch the Cavs, so I added DAZN to my Amazon Prime subscription and somehow the game tonight is still unavailable, even through the subscription within Prime.

Why did I subscribe through Amazon? I am still feeling the PTSD of trying to watch directly in the Fan Duel app which had constant lagging and delayed audio (and no, it's not my internet speeds, everything is hardwired with fiber). From what I've read, DAZN has the same issues. Watching through Prime was the only tolerable way to watch them.

Tried to sign up directly with DAZN and it's throwing an error now and won't let me sign up.

I hate this so much, definitely not subscribing now. Eat shit DAZN. Go Cavs.

Any other options to watch other than this trash service?

I got an email from Cavs rewards offering 2 free tickets to tonight and wednesdays games. I had no idea they drop random free tickets like this. Don’t really have a question except did anybody get any? I guess PSA, keep your eyes open. FWIW it was sent to my promotions folder in Gmail and I saw it about 45 minutes later and they were all claimed, bummer.

15 games are free this year correct? How do I access them? I downloaded the app and it wants me to pick a subscription option or start a 7 day free trial. Will the 15 free games just pop up on the app at their tip-off?

The man seems to bring skills we need to both ends of the floor - an athletic, sizable big with solid fundamentals

On a smart TV, DAZN is just constantly buffering and the frame rate is about 5 frames per second. The audio is a full 2 seconds ahead. This would be maddening even if was free, but $125 later I’m livid.

Late game collapses are an issue that go back to at least the 2025 Pacers series. I think it’s both a player and coach problem, and you can argue that a team led by Mitchell can't win a title, and you're probably right. But the reality is our roster is locked with Mitchell, Harden, and Mobley as the core for the foreseeable future, so a coaching change seems to be the last lever to pull.

I know wanting Kenny gone isn’t a hot take. But what do you think it would actually take for the org to move on? With the current parity in the NBA and not having LeBron, idk that Gilbert is defining success as Finals trip or bust anymore.

I have a quarter season package and my dad has a full season and a half season package (don’t ask). Other than listing on Seatgeek, where buyers have to spend a ton on fees, looking for other places to sell online. Facebook used to have some ticket groups but they seem to be way less active now. I don’t see a dedicated Reddit page either for ticket sales.

Hey fam, just watched the game and glad to get the W. One thing that's killed me the last decade is 2am and 3am Cavs starts. When we blow a lead like we did against Philly or the Knicks (or the pacers😭), it haunts me through the night and semi-ruins the next day.

I forgot we were playing last night and watching the next morning without knowing the score is honestly kind of sick, though. No commercials, and I can fast forward through free throws, challenges and other breaks. Probably a good option for super early risers stateside too.

Anyways, good win. The new guys both looked really good. Watson finally made some shots and showed creation chops. Mario was an all-rounder: two straight 3s, good rebounding, and a few nice cuts to the rim.

Mobley and Allen both looked solid. We have to get Allen the ball more, inside and otherwise. He's our most effective offensive option and we go away from him as games go on. Saw the 3 too, nothing but net.

Mobley needs the ball in actions where he can attack, shoot, or make the pass on the short roll or handoff. He's devastating in those spots. His screening looks better too, which should help his roll game downhill. Where he still isn't that good is when he clears out and dribbles 5 or 6 times, and that's totally OK. Allen and Mobley have real strengths and we need to play to them.

Despite stuffing the stat sheet, I'm still worried about Harden. The rebounds and assists were good, and the high turnovers are a staple. The real issue, IMO, is that he's no longer a serious scoring threat, which the playoffs also showed. Not as a number one option, not at all. His only reliable offense seems to be drawing fouls on 3s, which he tries 4 or 5 times a night, and that makes his scoring look better than it is. He can't get by anyone and he's not hitting the floater, which makes it really tough. Hopefully he starts making those floaters and cuts down the turnovers.

That late 12-2 BK run gave me Nam flashbacks. Glad we didn't blow it.

We clearly have the talent to jump out to leads against good teams like New York and Philly. We just need to handle business late and not drift away from the offense and feeding the bigs that built those leads.

Right now, Jerome is in the middle of a ridiculous three game stretch to start the season where he’s leading the league in scoring. I write this not because it’s completely sustainable, but because the most eyes are on him now.

I will never not feel as though keeping Ty was an incredibly obvious decision, and the entire Cavs fanbase was told a lie and then largely bought it despite obvious evidence of the contrary.

You still hear that the Cavs were forced to choose between Sam Merrill and Ty Jerome, and this is just plainly false.

In 25-26, the Cavs were going to be over the second apron for the first time, realistically no matter what they did. Really, the only benefit of not keeping Ty last season was to Gilbert’s pockets, and saving him tens of millions in tax. Gilbert is worth $30 billion.

The playoff series against the Pacers understandably lowered his value, but it also took it from them probably not being able to afford him with the approximately $14,000,000 MLE (the most they could offer) to Ty going for less than 9 million per year. Aside from a three or four game stretch in that series, he honestly looked like one of the best offensive guards in the league during the minutes he played for most of the year. There was really nothing stopping the Cavs from signing Ty for roughly 2 years, 20 million, or even slightly more.

Because Gilbert has done a lot of great for the Cavs, especially compared to other Cleveland owners, I think people have had a hard time admitting exactly what happened here.

Gilbert didn’t want to pay more in the tax than he was already paying, so ownership put the team in a hole at backup PG, forcing them to rely on the corpse of Lonzo Ball, who hadn’t been good in Chicago post-injury. Plainly, Cavs ownership hurt the team by trying to save money, and letting a unique offensive talent go out the door in the process.

Yo please help. I’m out of market (West Virginia) and I’ve always been able to watch Cavs games on league pass (didn’t have Bally or Fanduel network here) never had a problem. Now that it’s on DAZN it’s saying I need a DAZN subscription even though I’m out of market. Weird part is it lets me stream the game on league pass on my phone no problem, but when I get it on the TV (firestick) it tells me to go to DAZN

We’re some of the few people that still have cable. I noticed tonight there is a channel labeled “CAVS” that wasn’t there yesterday and it’s the same channel number that Bally/Fanduel/FSO used to be. I haven’t seen an announcement about it but this is a positive development. Here’s a crappy picture of my tv as proof.
