hey all! I was wondering if anyone has had success with plants in their shower full time? obviously they would be kept out of the direct line of the water and any shampoo/conditioner/body wash spray.
for some info, I live in central FL, and the only window in the bathroom is a west facing window, but the shower is a decent ways away so any light would be low/very indirect. I also do not have a light that can be changed out for a grow light, as the light is a small fan with LED lights around it.
most of my modest collection are plants that can't thrive in this environment (high light needs or jusr get way too big for a small shower) but would love some ideas on what could possibly work if there's anything!

I’ve just adopted 2 kittens and haven’t really thought about my house plants as they have been at my mums while I moved house. I’m ready to take them back but am worried the levels of toxicity, from what I’ve read they won’t kill them but I’d value someone else’s opinion on it.
Plants I have:
Philodendron
Monstera
Aloe Vera
Dracaena
Multiple succulents
Cactus
Yucca
And a couple I can’t identify.
Would love some feedback from people thank you!

My mum asked me to post about this: one of her little succulents has developed a black area near the centre of the leaves, and we have no idea why. It's not been over- or under-watered, nothing else has gotten on it (to our knowledge), so some help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Thank you for all the replies that have had helpful info, I'm going to follow up on them with more info and/or questions when I have a moment. As for the replies that just say "dead", that's... certainly also info. Cheers, I guess? :/

Im about to move across the country (Boston to Seattle) and have nearly 50 plants here that I can’t figure out how to keep - I’m heartbroken. I’ll be sending my belongings in a shipping cube (could take weeks), likely shipping my car, and will be flying myself. The best idea I’ve come up with so far is to take cuttings of as many as I can and try to bring them on my flight. My idea is to put them into water a few weeks before so their roots can grow, and then as close to my departure time as possible, wrap them in wet paper towels, put them in unsealed ziplocks, wrap those in fabric or bubble wrap or something soft, and hope for the best? The flight is about 5.5 hrs there, plus airport and drive time. Has anyone ever tried this, or does anyone have any better ideas? I considered putting some in my car while it ships since they could get light, but this will likely be in late winter/early spring so it would likely be too cold. Any ideas are very welcome!

My bird of paradise has outgrown my house after being outside for multiple summers. What would. Fair price be to list it locally for pickup/delivery?

This little plant has been in the public bathroom to my job for a year now. It has never seen sunlight so idk how it is still alive. Yes its real. I try to go see it everytime I work. Tell it that it's doing a great job & sprinkle water on its leaves so it can kinda feel rain.
This past week it's been going brown. How would ya'll save it?
Also if anyone knows what type of plant this little guy is please tell me. It looks like every other plant on Google to me.
I know nothing about plants except they are pretty.

Hey all,
I got this plant a couple weeks ago and it’s been thriving however I just noticed this new leaf that hasn’t unfurled has a brown spot and the other leaf has this weird like streak. I been looking for bugs but didn’t see any. And yall be scaring me with the thrips (praying that’s not what this is or I’ll cry!! 😭) but can yall help me figure this out before I repot it? Thanks in advance.

I bought this as a very small 2 inch plant. It’s now in a 3 inch pot and it was doing well but in the last few days many of his leaves have become cupped or have rolled in. I suspect the pot is super crowded, but I’m not 100% sure what to do about it. Any help is most welcome!
ETA: it’s in a chunky mix and under a decently strong grow light. 32W Agrobrite CFL if it matters.

Hey all, apparently I’m having a really bad stroke of luck with my plants recently. Need some help with this one. Does this seem to be a pest issue? I can’t locate any pests or anything of that nature, but this doesn’t look like any damage I’ve run into before. It did suffer sunburn recently, but this looks like something completely different. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

This diffenbachia is the plant that got me into plants, but I worry it hasn’t been growing the way it should. The leaves are browning and it has dry spots around the base of the stems. Any tips for how to make this plant thrive?

I got a mature Dracaena from Home Depot in January and she’s been doing really well until I repotted her about a month ago.
I could see roots coming out of the bottom holes, so I put her in a bigger pot with a succulent mix. I also noticed that she wasn’t draining well, there was a lot of excess water in the dish at the bottom
Ever since the repot, soooo many leaves have turned yellow at the bottom and fallen off. The leaves that are still on the plant are droopy and sad looking.
She’s still growing new leaves, which gives me hope, but those are also starting to droop.
Really not sure what’s going on, help please!!

Can't be root rot because I only water every 3-4 weeks when it's completely dry & the soil is super chunky. Had this plant for about 6-7 months but this has only been happening for a month or so. I cut other yellow leaves (actually they pulled right out) last week.

I bought a rabbits foot fern back in the early summer months and it was doing really well and seemed to be growing really well in my west facing window unfortunately as the cooler months have set in he has started to struggle slightly the potting mix is a base of cactus and succulent mix with extra perlite added approximately a 1-1 ratio and then orchid bark to top off the pot to promote fast draining I’ve pruned away all the dead weight and have been vigilant with making sure not to overwater him I have a humidifier set up about 4 feet away to help boost the humidity is there anything else I can do to help promote new growth and ensure survival through winter it gets a good 4-6 hours of bright indirect light throughout the day any help would be greatly appreciated

Put all the plants outside, under cover from rain, for 3-4 weeks.
DO NOT WATER THEM. The point is to dry out the soil enough to make all the eggs shrivel up and die.
You won. 🎉
(You have no idea how many other 'solutions' I've tried. Sticky notes. Watery traps with soap. Having a literal vacuum cleaner on stand-by....)

I think these white threads on my Butterfly Pea are mealy bugs. Have never had them earlier. What is the recommended way to deal with it.

Hello all! I’ve had this guy for almost 3 years now and it has been in this condition no matter what I do. Decreased and increased watering. Moved to different light conditions, but no luck. Any ideas?

Hey everyone! I have what I believe to be a Philodendron but was curious if anyone could help identify the specific type. I love it and would like to attempt propagation so if anyone has more information I’d greatly appreciate it.

My dad and I have a few plants that have to share a window and it’s great in summer but with winter coming, sun isn’t as generous.
I’m looking into grow lights for them but I honestly don’t know what half of the things on it mean or what brands are good.
I know Sansi and Barrina but I’m looking into anything really.
Not sure if it matters but these are the kinds of plants we have; an aloe vera, five monsteras (four are babies), a succulent, a bromeliad, a snake plant, a tradescantia, a spider plant and a snake plant.
So, yeah.. lots of light is very needed.
If anyone could help me out then I’d appreciate it!

These are web spinning mites, right? They’re so tiny, I almost feel bad for killing them! Do you think neem oil will be enough or is it over for this plant?
