Does weightlifting have benefits

I think so to an extent. If you take it with a positive light and don't succumb to steroid abuse and obsessive behavior it's decent

- it's dopaminergic. Very fun sometimes

- increase insulin sensitivity (does it? Haven't looked into it)

- can softmaxx you + 0.5 - 1 points esp if coming from skinny or obese

- common tasks like lifting boxes or furniture are easier

But I do think it is still stressful and won't prolong your life. Just don't overdo it

Should I take aspirin 300mg once a week?

Worried about bleeding and ulcers. I take 75ug of K2 a day but should I also look into a k1 sup?

I wanna lower estrogen, inflammation, and feel better overall

Also will it negatively impact muscle growth from working out

Shorter lifespan as a fast metabolism indicator

Modern science paints a picture - eat less calories, do fasting, eat omega 3s, sleep long, do cardio, avoid the sun, avoid sugar, avoid saturated fat to lower all-cause mortality and live to 100!

What if your time perception matters more than the number of years you live? Your days will feel 10% longer if you spend 7 hours in bed as opposed to 10 already, a fast metabolism correlates with good mood as well, which makes days more vibrant and memorable.

I won't link any studies but this seems to be the case with all non-flying, normal-sized or small mammals. Women also live longer than men and it's no secret that men have faster metabolisms.

Curious why I haven't heard about this anywhere, tell me your thoughts.

Why do a lot of my life long symptoms get better after ingestion of NAC, Tryptophan, and Methionine, and worse after dopaminergic substances? Could genetically high baseline glutamate (or low serotonin) make energy production itself a stress response for some people without the neurological buffers?

Disclaimer: I’m not anti-Peat. I’ve known about Peat for 10+ years and used to be on RP forum before moderators did a 180.
Just looking for peoples thoughts on this.

So, without going too deep into this, I have multiple diagnosed health disorders since childhood (urticaria, asthma, insomnia, IBS, headaches, ADHD, etc.) and it’s genetic as my mother’s side of the family all have similar health disorders— including the ones from different continents, eating different diets, speaking different languages, etc.
it’s clearly genetic.

However, I have found that my ADHD, insomnia, general cognition, ability to concentrate/not procrastinate/work long hours without fatigue, and how well I feel are all significantly improved by a large dosage of both NAC and Tryptophan supplementation each day, with a high methionine diet (lots of beef) making me feel far better, as well.

Under Peat’s viewpoint, this is disastrous. The exact opposite of everything he stands for.

All ADHD stimulants, the greatest legal dopaminergic sources that currently exist, don’t help me in any of the above regards the same way NAC and Tryptophan do.

The “peaty” or “dopaminergic” or “anti-stress” things (all supposedly correlate) like: Coffee, gelatin, TTFD (B1 that goes to brain), Niacinamide, Vitamin D3, Tryptophan depletion and/or low intake, avoidance of starch and/or excess fiber… all make me worse. I cannot concentrate at all, worse cognition/memory, more angry, less happy, worse sleep, more headaches, muscle pains get worse, etc.

One would think glycine or taurine would help, but that’s too sedating. NAC, though, has a stabilizing effect on Glutamate, specifically. Tryptophan increasing Serotonin also modulates glutamate.

I think maybe some people genetically are already very dopaminergic in their brain and/or low serotonin or high glutamate? And Peat’s principles would not really address such people in the best way.

Does anyone else have anecdotes, thoughts, opinions, or just general ideas on this?

LOW LIBIDO(maybe ED).

I have never had issues with libido or erections in my life, but over the last two weeks, my erections have disappeared. I used to get them throughout the day and when waking up as is typical for a healthy man in his early 20s but now, while I still get them in the morning, they are weaker, and I rarely get them during the day. A few months ago, I adopted a more "Peat-inspired" approach: consuming OJ, more fruit and sugar(even refined sugar), reducing fat intake as much as possible (though I still consume some PUFAs, as I don’t always prepare my own meals), and eating potatoes and skim milk.

I was also taking ~250mg of aspirin and 300mg of benfotiamine daily. Additionally, I used cyproheptadine (~2mg) about 10 times. Since this problem began, I’ve stopped taking these substances, but I haven’t seen any improvement. I’m not sure if this could be due to an antihistamine effect from the cypro or perhaps low prolactin levels, but it is bothering me immensely and interfering with my relationship; even my gf doesn’t arouse me the way she used to. Also, I don’t really consume porn. Maybe once a month, out of pure boredom, but it no longer appeals to me; in fact, it now evokes a sense of disgust and shame, will probably never watch it anymore.

What would you recommend? I’m considering getting blood work done and just waiting, hoping things return to normal.
For what it’s worth, I exercise 3–4 times a week and get a moderate amount of sun exposure. One other thing which I have recently started is eating a carrot with a spoonful of coconut oil every day...
