I am planning several "car picnics" for me and my spouse that involve scenic views where we bring our own picnic, park, and dine in the car. Other than the marina near Spud Point or the great view from the spots facing the Bay in the parking lot for the Dog House, which we've done a lot, are there other recommendations? It could be a state or regional park. I couldn't figure out if Doran had good park-and-view spots.

🎃🏳️🌈 Sonoma County Pride needs volunteers! 🏳️🌈🎃
Want to do something fun for Pride and support our community? We're partnering with BlindScream Haunted House for a fundraising opportunity on Friday, October 30!
👻 Be a scarer: Help scare guests at the haunted house. BlindScream provides costumes, makeup, training, and dinner!
🧁 Prefer something less spooky? We also need help selling Pride merchandise and running a bake sale.
💰 Sonoma County Pride will receive $300 for the volunteer group, with the potential to raise additional money through merchandise and baked goods.
⏰ Volunteers arrive at 5:30 PM. Scaring starts at 7 PM and continues until closing, around 10–11 PM.
We're also exploring an opportunity for Halloween, October 31, but our priority is getting enough volunteers for the 30th first.
Interested? Let me know! Let's show up for our community and have some fun! ❤️
I'd interested, contact liz@sonomacountypride.org

I've tried quite a few and none have been amazing yet. Where's your favorite place to grab a michelada?

There was a distribution error for mail and ballot in Sonoma County. Many voter ballots have not arrived and will not arrive. We were informed of this in person when we voted today. Go vote before it’s too late.

I live in West County, but could go anywhere around 101 and south all the way to San Francisco. I’m definitely willing to travel for the right provider who can start seeing me soon.
Home visits would also be great if that’s an option

Does anyone have a photo of that bar that was on the corner of golf course and commerce across from that chevron or of that old abandoned house that was where Amy’s drive thru is now? Or even golf course before the under pass was built and you could only get to the other side by going around? Thx

Title: Sonoma County approved a $1.15 million MRG consulting agreement. What changed for Health Services employees?
In February 2025, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved increasing its consulting agreement with Municipal Resource Group, LLC (MRG) to a maximum of $1,148,485. That included up to $698,485 for an assessment and redesign of the Department of Health Services.
The county said the project was intended to help improve the department’s organization and delivery of services. But I think taxpayers and county employees deserve an answer to a straightforward question:
What actually changed?
From what I have seen, the department has continued to place people in management positions without adequately addressing concerns about how employees are treated. In my view, the harmful management practices and workplace problems that needed attention have not been resolved.
A consultant can produce reports, roadmaps and recommendations. But those things mean little to employees if the culture they experience stays the same. And they mean little to taxpayers if the county cannot show what improved as a result.
I would like the county to answer:
How much was MRG actually paid for the Health Services project?
Which of its recommendations were implemented?
How has the county measured whether employees’ working conditions improved?
What has changed in how the department selects, evaluates and holds managers accountable?
What improvements can the public see in services as a result of this work?
The $1,148,485 is the approved maximum for the overall agreement, including other countywide services. The $698,485 is the stated maximum for the Health Services project. Neither figure by itself tells us what was ultimately paid.
The county’s own records are here:

Has anyone who works or worked for the county, or who has followed this project, seen meaningful improvements? I’d be interested in hearing what changed—and what didn’t.

Looking for more whites than reds, bubbles, cool vibes, pretty views, good food (not the same as the most expensive), and unique experiences. Please share wineries and restaurants by name. TIA.

Looking for a salon and hairstylist in Sonoma County to get a good haircut. My lady closed shop and moved away. I have very fine, straight, and thinning hair. Due to my hair being extremely straight it is hard to get a good cut that doesn’t look choppy. As you can really see the flaws of a bad cut on very straight hair.
Any help would be appreciated especially from people with similar hair type.

Hi everyone! 👋
I’m getting married in the beautiful Gualala in April 2028 and I’m looking for recommendations for a private chef, pizza chef, or small catering team in the Mendocino/Sonoma area.
Our venue has an onsite stone pizza oven, so I’m specifically looking for someone who is at least experienced with operating that type of oven and could make fresh pizzas for about 60 guests (table # unknown as of now). Ideally, they may also be able to handle a few salads or other simple sides. ☺️
I’m open to someone based in Gualala, Point Arena, Mendocino, Sea Ranch, Sonoma County, or someone who regularly travels to the area for events. We are also happy to provide ingredients as well.
If you’ve hired someone locally or know of a chef/caterer who has experience with stone pizza ovens and might be a good fit, I’d really appreciate any recommendations! Thank you so much!

I got into ATEEZ last year and Stray Kids this year, and I'd really love to connect with other fans in the area, maybe even start a meetup? Any other STAYtiny/atiny/STAY in the area interested in hanging out in person every once in a while, geeking out about our boys, maybe admiring each other's merch and getting coffee?
