Question Anyone familiar with buckwheat (soba) noodles? Do these nutrition facts make sense?

Post image
17 Upvotes

Title, is anyone familiar with buckwheat noodles?

One bundle/90g of this buckwheat noodle has 22g of protein and 342 calories. I‘m not really sure if this label is accurate because 22g of protein seems very high. Most of the other buckwheat noodle brands I’ve seen usually have around 10g of protein. Or is this one of the types of proteins that doesn’t help build muscles?

If you think about: gym bros should be perfectly fine with eating vegan

The typical gym bro diet is lean chicken, rice and broccoli. They are eating this plain ass meal, so they shouldn't have any problem switching to "shitty vegan food"

Like dude I remember dry lean chicken from when I ate meat. That shit fucking sucked. Tofu is 100x tastier. At least it isn't so dry dude

The only thing stopping them would be "less bioavalable" but I mean just eat slightly more tofu.

Like imagine exploiting animals and you don't even have the excuse of saying how good it tastes. Just choosing violence for no reason basically

Question What do you guys eat for dinner, especially after the gym? Looking for light, high-protein ideas!

Hey everyone!
I’ve been running out of dinner ideas lately and could really use some inspiration! 😅

I’m actually pretty happy with my breakfast and lunch. I’ve got those figured out in terms of calories and macros, but when it comes to dinner, I often find myself having no idea what to eat.

The thing is, I don’t really feel like having a full, proper meal in the evening like I do for lunch. I’d much rather have something light, healthy, high in protein, and still filling, without feeling too heavy before bed so I can sleep comfortably.

I’m especially curious about what you guys eat for dinner after an evening gym session or workout. I often exercise in the evenings, so I’d love to find some good post-workout dinner options that provide enough protein for recovery without being too heavy or calorie-dense.

So, what are your go-to dinners, especially on workout days? Do you have any quick, easy, high-protein meals or snack-style dinners that are healthy, relatively low in calories, and actually taste good?
I’d love to hear your ideas! 😊

Last nights upper body workout was good. Haven’t touched a bench press in awhile and it’s nice it’s still stronger.

Added in more walking and cardio. I’m locked in.

I’m posting this for accountability and show progress.

Plants got all the protein you need. Crush weights to empty cages! 🌱💪🏿

health A UK modelling study estimated that reducing red and processed meat consumption by 35–50% and replacing it with vegetables and legumes could increase life expectancy by 7–9 months and prevent 3.4–4.5 million chronic disease cases over 30 years, with most benefits linked to cardiovascular health.

So great to see the positive impact of a vegan lifestyle in this post, and so frustrating to see the comments. So many people cutting off their nose to spite their face. (Or rather, cutting off someone else's nose...)

Struggling with injuries and considering going plant based

This question is specifically for the ladies inching their way to their 40s/perimenopause. I used to be vegan in my 20s and was quite fit (running, hiking, skiing etc.). I now follow primarily a Mediterranean diet but animal products are still part of my diet. Over the last 5 years I have gained over 30lbs, and have really struggled with my fitness. I lift weights, run, do yoga and lots of outdoor activities. But with every passing year I seem to be getting injured more frequently. Currently dealing with plantar fasciitis and just what feels like constant fatigue as well as histamine intolerance/inflammation issues. The feet issues has been a real struggle for me since I can't ski or run for long periods of time. I'm trying to figure out if this is just aging, or whether my system is in disarray. Has anyone switched to a plant based diet at this point in their life and seen a dramatic improvement in their overall fitness health? If yes, how long did it take, and how have you maintained this lifestyle?

I don’t have great compression so bending my arms is helping as I get lower to the ground. Wobbly as hell but today is my first day using only my shorter block! Next stop, from the ground 🤪 (probably in a few weeks time still)

Vegan protein and lead

Hey all, not really sure what to make of all of this about higher levels of lead in plant protein powders. I get how it gets there but im wondering how much stock i should put into it.

I read someone saying that their blood tests showed higher lead when taking pea protein. I currently eat pea protein + rice protein from Naked every day.

Is it something to really worry about? How much is too much per week? Any brand thats better than others?

I dont want any artificial sweeteners if I can help it

Question Favorite ways to get salt/ electrolytes?

Hi vegan homies! Short story short; I just got out of the hospital for a minor case of hyponitrimia (low blood sodium). It was concluded that the cause was that I just don't eat enough salt, and I'm clear to go back to normal activity.

Sooo.... I'm basically asking for yall's favorite salty recipies and snacks! I do have celiac so no gluten sadly :( The hospital nutritionist also told me to try things like electrolyte drinks and also to try to get a lot of protein? (which I already do but she said shakes/ bars would be a good idea)

Overall salt seems to be the main thing to focus on, so anyone got some salty ideas? Much apriciated!! 💚
