Question Lakewood Schools & Transportation
Parents: How do you get your kids to school in the winter months if you're unavailable to drive them? Do parents set up car pooling? Do you have a spouse/ family help?
I moved to Avon Lake a few months ago so my son could get bused to school. I'm getting tired of being so far from work and having limited food options. I'd like to move back once my lease is up, but this is a major issue for me. I don't want to go back to Rocky River's school district.

Housing/Apartments Advice on mold issue in apartment
Howdy all, we recently discovered a catastrophic mold issue in a large closet in our apartment. The mold issue being caused by the pipes for the shower leaking in the wall. Our daughter has severe asthma, and the mold has spread to inside of the other walls and even over the entrance of the door.
Landlady says that maintenance who lives on site can “fix” it. Even after airing my concerns, she was insistent that he would be able to fix it and “contain the spores”. I tried to mention moving to a different unit, and she would not engage with the question. The mold issue being caused bad. Is there any kind of tenants rights groups we can look into? Any advice? So many of these landlords don’t want to take care of their old buildings. We don’t think it’ll be safe to stay here, and we had to throw out literally everything in the closet including all the winter gear we own.
TLDR; seeking advice on tenants rights for west cuyahoga county apartment that has major mold issue

Recommendations Renting in Cleveland with a Pit bull
Hi everyone!
I am hoping for some help, I will most likely be moving to Cleveland next summer for school and will be taking my Pit bull with me. She is very friendly with people and tolerates dogs as long a they don't come up to her. She is about 50 ish lbs and 10yr old. I am looking for apartments that don't have breed restrictions, but size restriction is okay as long as its around 50lbs. I am looking at being closer to the east side of Cleveland towards university heights and Cleveland heights or downtown but I am willing to look further to the west side if the options are better. I really can't go above $1500/mth unless utilities are included as I will be a student with a very fixed income.
Thank you!

Question Any place to buy beeswax?
Basically I want to refill a memorial candle but unfortunately couldn’t find any places that do the refill for you. So I think I’m just going to try to do it myself and wanted to know where I could buy beeswax locally to support the community.
Edit: Someone sent me a dm recommending 4kbeez so I’m gonna check that out!

Housing/Apartments Plumber needed on East Side
Hey there, everyone!
I am looking for a good & decent plumber that won't charge me insane costs for some plumbing work in my home.
The T-connection for the vent to a toilet & my drain basket to my kitchen sink are leaking.
We just had someone come out for a quote & they said for those services, we are looking at $1,400 minimum. I am a first time homeowner and I have already been through the ringer with roof issues and water issues. I am so tired of terrible craftsmanship & high prices.
Please let me know if you have a good plumber because we are desperate!
Thank you!

Events MicroWeddings
hi!! i am getting married in the spring and am starting to do some planning. please don't drag me for being late to do this it's going to be super small so i figured it wouldn't take too much planning but probs wrong
can anyone give a review or suggest a different venue based on the below? i dont want to use AI for any part of this and did read ~7 reddit posts already here but some were older. any thoughts would be appreciated :)
20-35 people estimated
would love to be able to get married and do reception all in the same space or have a private reception area after getting married at a gazebo or something intimate
no food sensitivities but love italian, asian, and american cuisines the best. i say american but really i mean i like steak lol
plus for anything that can deal with decor - we're simple and dont have any "dream wedding" ideas so if any wedding planners see this and want to have full creative freedom hi take my money but hopefully not tooooo much money
thank you cleveland !

Politics Early Voting is a disaster today
Can we please get some more early voting locations for the love of god. It is obscene to wait 2 hours to vote

Question Enbridge Gas Appointment?
I'm on try #3 for getting an appointment for meter service at my address, does anyone know how long it takes a representative to arrive on the premise after receiving the courtesy call?
I've been on the property both times, the second time I didn't even get a courtesy call, just a "We're running behind, but a rep will still be coming." Pretty frustrating and I'm debating just throwing a lawn chair out and sitting there from 8am to noon until the rep arrives LMAO

Question Dental laboratory tech
Is there anywhere in the Cleveland area that I can find a dental lab tech program.…. Or a job that will hire me with little experience ? I really want to get into dental lab work but don’t know where to go. I’ve seen one school so far and that’s like 2 hours away. It’s a 10 week program and they have classes everyday Saturday. I don’t want to drive 2-3 hours every weekend for 10 weeks 🙃

Politics Voted early today. The BoE claims faster and more efficient voting; meanwhile I waited longer than 2018, 2022 and 2024 COMBINED.
Got in line at 2:30 today, thinking I'd be out no later than 3:00. I didn't get my ballot until 3:50! There were more people in line today than my previous early voting experiences, but not enough to justify 80 minutes of waiting! And then they had the audacity to sent out a text as I was leaving about how much more efficient it is...I'm all for early voting, and am happy to see the turnout, but plan to be waiting a long time.
Edit: Voted by mail in 2020, for obvious reasons.

Question Any advice on this?
I got a Newburgh Heights camera ticket in September, but didn’t pay it because Ive seen various posts on those, and folks have said to not pay them because the cameras aren’t 100% reliable and dont count as points against your license. I got this notice from the Garfield Heights municipal court, that I failed to pay that ticket, and am on the verge of going to collections after 10 days. Should I pay this and get it over with, or continue to not worry about it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
