I purchased my house in 2023/2024(December/January). Within the span of two years, my mortgage went up 11% to where an entire paycheck is allocated. My mortgage rate is a 30 year at 6.6%. The remainder of my income is allocated to bills/food.. and gas(thanks Trump).

I’m frustrated with property taxes/levies here.. it’s like I just can’t catch a break. I am a single earner, no kids, no extra income. Just me.

Has anyone here decided to go back to renting? My idea is that I am able to rent out my house for a loss of 100-$300 dollars(difference to cover) a month while renting for $1300 a month. I would be able to save $1400 a month which I could use to save.

went to vote today (for amy acton ofc) and this one was especially heartfelt. over the past year ive had to lay off multiple of my employees against my will (due to the big heads in my company wanting more shareholder value), some of them who had just become new parents and had their first child. the jobs that they had were offshored to india and poland.

also worth adding, my company partners with a major tech company that was sued and found liable in 2024 for h-1b abuse and discrimination against american workers and preferential treatment towards employees of south asian descent.

so to the republicans who are worried about american jobs being sent overseas, you will be voting for someone who is receiving donations from corporations that lay off american workers and offshore their jobs and work with companies that abuse the h-1b visa program. let’s also not forget that vivek called american workers “mediocre”.

and to some of us within the democratic party, i encourage you to make this an issue if amy acton wins. at a time when americans are already struggling with the cost of gas, groceries, and utilities under trump, this is not the time to be sending american jobs overseas.

during obamas campaigns when he ran for president twice he ran on cracking down on h-1b visa abuse and offshoring jobs. nowadays it seems to be the very young voters within the democratic party who don’t want to have constructive convos about immigration and offshoring. being mean and nasty to immigrants should not ever be a democratic value but please also remember that american families and jobs matter as well

Flyers Pizza used to have the best mozzarella sticks. They must get them from a different supplier than they did 10 years or so ago. Anyone know of a place in Columbus that has mozzarella sticks similar to the old Flyer’s ones? HELP. 🤣

This is the second day. This cat's come around this area and he has a green collar with this round metal disk that has the apple icon on it. Clearly this means someone might be looking after him. But they let him outside so much that I wonder if they're actually taking care of him?

Are there ANY reasonably priced apartments in or around columbus that aren’t just so so so so so infested with bugs? Am I asking for too much? Is it so crazy to want a bug free place i can afford? it doesn’t have to be fancy, just pest free 😭 My current place has roaches and the landlords don’t bother to do anything but INCREASE our rent :’) i had a friend who rented at the same complex as me and the owner of the buildings herself said “yeah i wouldn’t wanna live here either haha!” IM LOSING MY MIND

I am going to be in Columbus for a night briefly during a road trip down to WV and would like to find an activity to do that evening that isn't just going to a bar, the tricky part is that we are not getting in until 8 or 9 and it seems like a lot of things are closed by then (understandably) so I'm curious if anyone has any ideas, we will be there on a Tuesday if that makes any difference.
