Apparently, the earliest use of the word 'bogan' in its modern form is from the 1983 Carine Senior High school magazine 'Writings on the Wall'.

I cannot confirm this though and I would love to know if anyone has an actual copy or scan. Considering how entrenched this word is, an original copy of its first use in print would be pretty amazing.

My rural fire brigade is on its 3rd credit union, and it is constant technical problems. Different problems with each, but always technical - can't generate valid statements, can't send us an email, two-to-sign internet banking authorisation doesn't work. It's a right hassle changing banks and I don't fancy the big 4 with their world destroying investments, but this credit union sector just seems plagued with low function.

By most people's definitions of the seasons, we are now in mid spring, and temperatures are still generally mild in large areas of the country (and therefore some may not be taking UV protection as seriously as they otherwise would). But going purely off the sun (daily maximum altitude, etc) is it correct to say we are now pretty much in the 25% of the year where solar intensity is the highest? Could this time of year be a bit of a "danger zone" in this regard?

I wonder what the weirdest Bunnings is. I just went past the one in Collingwood, Melb. It’s in an old office plaza. They’ve repainted the building green, but it still looks like the sort of building from the 80s that had too much reflective glass and was filled with insurance brokers and solicitor offices. Not too weird, but it got me thinking.

The gym franchisee owner assured me that wouldn't happen at her gym. She was trying to convince me she had the authority to override the contract and that her verbal say so would do the trick. Yeah right.
