Light and Fluffy News I walked from Melbourne CBD to Dromana
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Have seen a couple fellow lunatics post their long walks here, so figured I'd show mine from back in April. 24 hour walk, 102km covered (24 hours elapsed, 22 hours moving between shitting, eating and dying). $2,000 raised for RCD foundation. Why? Why not. Unimaginable pain. 10/10.
Also seeking ideas for other stupidly hard fitness expeditions. I'm thinking 10 laps of the 1000 steps in Ferntree Gully a day. I have already ridden 100 laps of the MCG before, so no need to suggest that one

Health Doctors in Melbourne
Anyone else finding it impossible to book an appointment with a bulk billing doctor these days? Most aren’t accepting new patients and if you want a female doctor you may as well forget about it. I live in the CBD and feel like I have to travel to the outer suburbs to find a good doctor. Anyone else having this issue or am I doing something wrong?

I am not convinced that there can be an actual increase of 3000. I say 800, but that's all there will be

THDG Need Help Would anyone working in Public Health be willing to help me out?
Hi All, I've been looking for work in public health (epidemiology, clinical research, environmental health, data management/analysis, research coordination, etc.) for most of the past year without much luck. I have 10yrs of experience working in the public health sector, but the vast majority of my career has been overseas. I don't know anyone that works in public health here in Aus, and I’ve found it a bit difficult to get a good sense of the overall sector, what employers are looking for, and how best to position my previous experience.
As a result, I was wondering if there’s anyone working in public health who might be open to briefly chatting about their experiences working in the field and answer a few questions?
I promise that I’m not looking for a job referral or anything like that. My goal is simply to get a better understanding of the public health sector in Australia and hopefully gain some insight into how to better navigate the field, so I can approach my job search more strategically.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions or are willing to help. I'd genuinely appreciate your perspectives and insights. Thanks!

Not On My Smashed Avo disrespectful youth
I took two of my clients to the movies today for a nice outing, and honestly had the most disgusting experience at Reading Cinemas in Dandenong.
3 young boys I’d say around 17-18yo were obnoxious, loud, being disrespectful the whole movie and ignored my many attempts of asking them to stop and telling them we paid to be there to see the movie too.
At the end of the movie, they ran out before the lights turned on and threw all their full snack packets and full bottles of soft drinks at us, which thankfully missed, because this could have caused injury at the force it was thrown.
Absolutely disgusting behaviour, and I had told the cinema staff who I suggested call security as I could see the boys hovering outside the cinema. The staff would not despite my many attempts to request this, and instead just gave us 3 free movie vouchers.
I appreciate the vouchers but for 3 young women walking back to the car I was appalled they didn’t take the request seriously especially considering how aggressive those boys were and obviously had no qualms throwing stuff at us to cause harm.
I don’t know what I’m trying to achieve out of writing this but I’ve never had this happen before and I’m honestly shocked and disgusted at how these guys behaved.
Has anyone ever had this experience? Is it worth notifying the police over?
The cinema management didn’t seem too interested in helping much and i wouldn’t be able to give a clear description due to the dark movie theatre, as they left before the lights turned on.

Real estate/Renting First Timer renter wondering how to move in an extra roommate
Just moved out of home for the first time and have been renting by myself for 4ish months now in a two bedroom unit, I've been quite comfortable so far and not had any issues. recently had a good friend approach who was interested in moving into the other bedroom which id be happy to have so I can save a bit of extra money.
Just unsure about how to actually move them in do I need to sublet or have them as an approved resident or actually get them on the lease?

Real estate/Renting Suburb advice for FHB Doreen, Diamond Creek and Mernda
So we're moving from Auckland Nz next year and currently looking for an area to settle down in VIC. Rent first and then build/buy.
I work remotely (Drive to CBD once a month)
Partner is in Veterinary, plenty of options there and nearby.
- We're looking for family-oriented areas as we will be starting a family soon.
- Basic amenities coles/wollies nearby.
- Leafy the area the better.
- We don't go out much, so traffic, etc., is not a big concern.
Please would love to hear your stories and experiences.
