Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Its not just me right?

• Upvotes

That finds all the platforming exhausting?

Theyre not hard, there's just so much that I'm getting sick of it.

I'd get it, if it was the clock tower, since moving parts and mechanisms are a massive part of the map. But its everywhere in this game.

Did the devs ever ask themselves if they'd put too much?

I'd rather have a map wide puzzle like Library had, than all this platforming theyve added just for padding.

And to the people who says this game is just Dead Cells, its not. But I wish they took more from it.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Mammon, no damage Spoiler

I like Belmont's Curse, and I see everybody is doing comparisons with other franchises, but no one has compared it with MegaMan, the Tarot cards abilities match perfectly to bosses patterns, and certain weapons also make the fights easier.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) It's hilarious that every other Arcana has a cool phrase or a one-liner when you activate them, meanwhile Brauner just shouts his own name like a Pokemon

Question Bottom left of Tomb of the Cheavliers (Notre-Dame) - can you get here?

• Upvotes

I'm confused, the map itself, looks like it's not finished, and right on the other side, there's an opening ... you can't slide through, nor can you aerial dash.

What am I missing?

Thanks

Games Castlevania: Belmonts Curse Completed!!

Definitely a good game. Not nearly as bad as other people are calling it. Really enjoyed the platforming in this with the utilization the whip and the holy light. Also really like the implementation of the tarot cards. My favorite was the ferryman’s Ice ability. Probably the my 6th favorite Metroidvania released this year I’ve 100%ed.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Collapsed Path of Orpheus Blocked?

Post image
2 Upvotes

So Im trying to gold all the map sections after beating the game and trying to get the True ending and I skipped this one sections cuz I cant figure it out.

In Catacombs Collapsed Path of Orpheus this bottom left section I can reach. Coming from the top there is a slide path that you can only leave from the left as entering from the right is a raised floor so cant slide through. And the opening on the bottom I just realized is probably blocked off from the cave in from early in the game as there is no opening on the right side of that room.

Anyone know how to get back in there after you leave it the first time?

Games Lament of innocence remake when?

I have had lament of innocence and curse of darkness on my shelf for over 15+ years and I never played them. I popped lament in once but it didn't pull me in.

Today out of curiosity I popped the disc in my old ps2 and man smear graphics aside (although the transition effects are nice) the game plays way more what I would expect a 3d castlevania to play like.

I own lords of shadow and hated it. It was all cinematic set peice qte, god of war but not and 20x worse. The story was lame the chunky gears of war sized characters, lame. The weapons and atmosphere was not castlevania. Why do people like that mess?

I am actually digging lament, and I dig the music, the Gothic style is intact. That enemies and power ups all here. My only complaints so far is the whip jump grapple is a pain in the ass. Also why no leveling? This could of been sotn in 3d. Which honestly is what I have always wanted, but an actual metroidvania 3d rpg not a our action game like Los. Think dark souls level layouts but faster movement and more platforming. Gothic themed and not as hard bosses. I could see it being done.

How does everyone like the ps2 cv games? Any news on a collection? These are the only mainline games I haven't really played (and los2 which why would I bother if I hated the first).

Discussion Now that the metroidvania fans have gotten Belmont's Curse, can we get a new Castlevania in the classicvania style, please?

A game along the lines of Super Castlevania 4 or Rondo of Blood would be very welcome. 8-directional whipping is a must (so unfortunate that SC4 is the ONLY game with this mechanic). I would like a short, 3-4 hr game where every stage is balls to the wall hard. You must learn the level inside out, where each item is, where the enemies are, figure out the platforming and plan a route - only then can you progress through the level and finish it. I want no backtracking, no side paths, no RPG mechanics - just an exquisitely designed linear adventure where you go from one stage to the next. I want to see some creative level design like the spinning room in SC4's stage 4-2, or the chandelier platforming in stage 6-1. The devs could use last year's Ninja Gaiden Ragebound's (a linear 2D side scroller) financial success as part of their pitch to Konami execs.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Trevor and Leon are possibly the Belmonts that suffered the most Spoiler

To be honest, every Belmont somehow suffered for fighting and defeating Dracula.

  • Simon was cursed and had to do all of that journey to search for Dracula's remains in order to save his bloodline
  • Christopher(the one from Castlevania Adventure and Belmont's Revenge) saw his own son, Soleil, being manipulated by Dracula and having to fight him
  • Richter was ashamed of the fact that he was controlled by Shaft, which made the Belmont clan to disappear until Julius reapeared in 1999. Thus, Shanoa and the Morris' clan (and also Eric Lecarde and Charlotte) had to fight Dracula meanwhile
  • Speaking of Julius, he went in a coma and lost his memories in the aftermath of the 1999 Battle

And then, he have Leon and Trevor. In Leon's case:

  • He lost his wife(Sara), went to hunt "Dracula" (that is, Mathias) and basically was cursed with longevity and basically becoming his minion

And then Trevor:

  • Lost his wife(Sypha) due to Dracula's Curse
  • Got fatally wounded by Isaac in Curse of Darkness
  • Got fatally Wounded(again) by Death in Belmont's Curse

It's even ironic that each of this events happened in each game of the "Cursed trilogy" lol. It seems like our Belmonts can't catch a break :c

Im not sure if Rose somehow suffered by deafeating Dracula, i still didn't finish the game (filler image)

Question How to grind for souls better???

So I'm pretty new to Castlevania, I'm actually going through all the games now for the first time and I made the amazing choice to try and grind for all the souls in Aria of Sorrow as soon as I started the game. I'm currently mid game (I'm pretty sure) and while grinding to level up before trying Death again I ran back to try and get the peeping eye's soul because I couldn't earlier and I've been here for over an hour. How would I go about speeding this up??? Do all monsters even have souls or have I been wasting my time? Help.

r/castlevania • • 4h ago

Portrait of Ruin (2006) Anybody know what the best recommended point in time to start grinding for the mastery ring? So far I’m in the Forest of Doom so I wanna be sure Im not already close to endgame. Also really wanna max out the Boomerang & Kunai. Btw what are the best non-glitchy ways to get enough money for two rings?

What is nocturne? I saw a thumbnail on YouTube, and what I think is Richter looks like he's barely old enough to shave. There was some black girl, too. Who's that supposed to be?

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Why can't I like this game?

Seriously. Nothing about this game is wrong. Combat is fun as hell, traveling around with the whip is fun. Boss fights are flashy but not 20 tries to complete. I loved the puzzles, and clue system felt exciting to me.

It has everything I would want from a Classic/Metroidvania fused Castlevania.

But I get no satisfaction when it comes to challenge which hurts my reception of this game. (It's not something I will critize the game for having since that seems to be what gamers want these days. I just don't get it myself.)

Had to edit this post a few times. I took out a section because it felt like I was bragging and that's not at all what I want to do.
