Discussion As a new player in 2026.
New player. Been playing since maybe July 2026. 1505 total level. (I’m a main, but I do a lot of stuff myself. Try not to rely on GE for everything)
Loving the game but I am curious why certain areas are such dead content. (I understand that some of this is decades old. But it could be cooler / more important with new content)
Just things I think about sometimes. Apologies if it’s a bit long.
Butterflies.
Brewing.
Pretty much any farming that isn’t herbs/trees.
I feel like butterflies could be way more important especially for early game hunters/farmers. Sailing and construction kinda go together if you are upgrading your boat.
So I feel like Hunter/farming could work well together.
I get there’s some butterflies in the game already but In my head I picture if maybe early game if there was more. That if you release them near an allotment/ patch you could get minor passive boosts for that patch. In the sense similar to the anime patch in the farmers guild.
Feel like there’s could be a minor quest series about repopulating butterflies somewhere. Maybe fossil island. I figure fossil island is mostly passive content so if there was like a passive thing to mix in a little with birdhouses.
Brewing is something I feel like no one does at all. I understand why completely. Because of the low xp and time it takes. I personally do brew occasionally if my travels bring me to aldarin.
I kinda wish there was a more important reason for people to actually brew stuff.
I totally understand that trouble for brewing kinda stinks and people don’t really enjoy it.
Personally I think if close to the mini game area near the water there were some crab traps people can mess with while waiting for a new game.
Also if there was more to brewing and the game required more breweries that would be a decent area for one.
And lastly I grow pretty much 95% of all my patches. I don’t go out of my way to do it, like hops , bushes or belladonna. But I do plant them if my journey brings me there.
Just wish there was a bit more reason to actually be planting hops. I truly only plant maybe yannilla, wild blood and a lot of hemp.
Curious to hear about why it’s such dead content. Also curious if other people plants these patches or maybe I’m not doing something correctly.
Also love to hear new ideas or if anyone has thought about things similar.
I have so many ideas I don’t ever post here. I usually just read what people post. And usually is the same. “Haven’t played in 100 years what kind of money making can i do”
“Is members worth it” type posts
Lastly, I enjoy the community. Thanks for having me.

Creative All of my completed “Gielémon” cards!
For a couple of months I have been occasionally sitting down to draw some osrs bosses in a similar style to Ken Sugimori’s now-famous washed out watercolors from Pokémon’s early years.
I have gotten lots of feedback and made revisions along the way, so as promised I want to share all that I have done now that I’ve reached 10 completed works!
These cards are not really intended for actual battling, which I’m sure you can tell lol (I haven’t a shred of the skill/knowledge required to balance a real tcg) so please take the move sets and such with a grain of salt. It’s really only supposed to be silly fun! HP and weaknesses are based around the in-game bosses stats as well, which is why they differ so wildly from the vintage tcg. Again, just silly fun! I also don’t have any plans in place for selling them because I don’t really have the time to sort out sourcing high-quality proxies. Don’t come for me 🥲
All artworks are drawn using Procreate with an Apple Pencil on the iPad Pro. Zalcano is still my favorite 🥰

Discussion TFA's awesome purple reveal is completely spoiled by the sparkles around your personal chest
I absolutely love how Jagex handled the purple reveal in The Fractured Archive.
Instead of instantly knowing whether someone received a purple, you have to walk towards the platform and wait for the flames to appear. Orange means no purple, while purple means ... well, purple! It's such a cool way to build suspense!
However, there's one issue that completely ruins this buildup.
As soon as you enter the reward room, you can already see your personal chest with sparkles around it. You instantly know that even if purple flames appear, the purple isn't yours.
This completely defeats the purpose of the awesome suspense they've created for this raid.
My suggestion: Delay the sparkles around your personal chest until AFTER the orange or purple flames appear. Ideally, add a slight delay so the purple chest has enough time to appear before your personal chest is revealed.
It's a small change, but I think it would make the reward reveal so much more exciting!
EDIT: Calm down, Behemeth fanboys. I haven’t watched him in years, but it’s nice to hear he mentioned it in a video too.

Suggestion To incentivize bringing learners, raid death cost should be the reduced rate across and whole team if even 1 person has < 5 kc.
I don’t feel like this is even that abusable, eventually people would get the 5 kc and stop being a gp buffer, and it might get learners the experience they need rather than being a potential 500k burden every run.

Achievement Solo TFA (Ironman)
I didn't record because I'm unintelligent!
World first iron solo? Not sure. World first no blood fury solo? Not sure xd
But I did it! Shoutouts to the people in vc tolerating my generational xarth crashouts l00l
I haven't done solo ToB but I don't think this is anywhere near as difficult. But I'm prob not the best informed for that!
Also, yes, it looks like I'm using a blood fury in the screenshot, but it's a recoloured rancour, you can check the tfa section on droptrackerio to see the gear I have equipped!

Discussion Just got to use Teleother Lumbridge for an actually good reason
I've been showing my friend Runescape lately and trying to be very hands off, except for sort of lightly encouraging her to do Enter the Abyss so that I can get a Guardians of the Rift partner out of her >:)
Tonight she wanted to explore the desert because she asked me what would level up her Agility and I answered Icthlarin's Little Helper lol. She sprinted into the desert without a waterskin so I quickly bought two and ran after her praying she wasn't dead. When we play together we don't call we just type in game. Luckily I found her and traded her a waterskin and taught her about cutting cacti, but she wasn't taking the heat very seriously. Finally we get to the very bottom of the desert and I see her take 10 damage and nearly die from heat. I try to trade her another waterskin but she just stands there not knowing what to do and starts spam clicking the Home Teleport button. Finally I remember why I have Soul Runes and I teleother her back to Lumbridge which she accepts in a flash. I love Teleother. Jagex if you can hear this, the community (me and my friend) is roaring for dozens more Teleother spells to be added!

Discussion Hot take (possibly?). Jagex needs to work on infrastructure around group content before forcing more group content.
Just watching the last Behecast where they talk a lot in the intro about how TFA is gonna be rough for any players who are largely solo players/don't want to engage in communities like clans etc.
TOB has notoriously been a piece of content that for years, has been a case of "you either know someone who does it and is willing to teach you, or you suck it up and brave we do raids". I personally learned through We do raids and have helped teach many people in clans over the years since getting 700+kc there.
TFA with its (perceived) much higher gear and skill floor is likely going to have this problem again, potentially worse as it's going to be significantly harder to learn due to the amount of communication/coordination required in rooms.
Why are we still leaving the grouping and anti-scamming side of this kind of content to the community to police/organise. Currently We do raids and Runewatch do a huge amount of the heavy lifting in getting new people into team content and making sure their experience isn't miserable.
In the case of Runewatch, they're a community function designed to protect you from scamming but are very limited on what they can actually prevent if a scammer isn't already known to them (and thus has managed to scam someone before). And if you're completely unaware of Runewatch you're pretty much on your own. If you do unfortunately end up being scammed of something valuable, that's potentially enough to put you off raids outright if you're relatively new to it.
Is it not about time that Jagex makes some sort of effort to take on these systems themselves if they're leaning more into group content? I have no idea what the fix is here but maybe a better grouping functionality in-game? Maybe expand the current grouping boards to allow more information other than just KC and our stats? As an example, allow us to post our roles we're comfortable with at TOB. And some sort of opt-in split function that people can use when raiding with randoms to protect from scamming. Allow us to auto sell uniques in the raid and auto split them as long as everyone agrees to this? Maybe irons have a pouch that works like a bond pouch, they use gp from their main on the iron and it holds it for splits but is otherwise in-accessible?
I've personally never played a game where they got this perfect, WoW notoriously divided their player base on the introduction of random dungeon finders, and I agree that there is definitely a threshold of too much handholding by the game. But surely there are some improvements that could be made?
Alright guys, roast me. I'm ready.

Discussion | J-Mod reply A very obvious glitch is taking place with deaths in tfa in large team sizes.
I'm calling it a glitch because there is simply no way jagex would intentionally design the raid like this. I'm at about 60kc and raid with a lot of learners. For context, I am a grandmaster with BIS gear and have about 8000 raid kc under my belt. Most of the people I'm raising with are no where near BIS and often not experienced.
Simple explanation: in teams of 5-8 men, if someone dies once and they are not in the top 3 DPSers in each room, they are guaranteed a cabbage. Not 2+ deaths, one. That death can be the end of Dreadnoth, and they can do all of ocellus and do 10% of the raids DPs, and they will get a cabbage.
Expanded explanation: It's very clear that the raid operates similar to TOB with points to roll white loot. You enter with either 0 or 1 points, and any death puts you into the negative (let's say -1 point). You gain points by seemingly being in the top 4 DPSers in each room: the MVP gets 2 points, 2nd and 3rd and 4th place gets 1 point. Players 5, 6, 7, and 8 get no points.
If players 5-8 all have lower dps options compared to their teammates, and their skill difference does not offset the the damage potential difference, then they will never be in the top DPSers in rooms in big team sizes.
Meaning one death is a guaranteed cabbage if you are poorly geared or learning the raid in large team sizes.I have seen this literally dozens of times. If you are FFA and not raiding with friends, and if your gear is not great and you are not great at the raid, and if you die once, you may as well teleport out. You will not even roll a white chest, nevermind a purple.
This cannot be by design. This must be a glitch. Jagex is not this dense. Otherwise, there is no incentive to ever run a 5+ man if you have not BIS gear or are learning the raid. I have seen this dozens of times. I help run We Do Raids and I am not the only one noticing this. This is a recipe for disaster (hah) if it is true, and it effectively kills any large team FFA raids as people will teleport out the second they die. It makes taking learners on much riskier as well, as a solid team of 2-4 people are often how learners get their feet in the door.
I'm not asking jagex to reveal how points are calculated, but I refuse to believe this system was intentionally designed. I have raided with dozens of people who are disheartened after a death because they know a cabbage awaits them after this. It also means that taking a learner onto your team is significantly less likely.

Discussion To the people upset about TFA being group content: The Bean Soup Theory
A while back, someone on the internet posted a video of a bean soup recipe. One of the top comments was "What if I don't like beans?".
This became known as the Bean Soup Theory. It's the inability to realize that not everything is creating for specifically you.

Discussion MVP encourages selfish behaviour
If you’ve ever run an FFA raid, you will see people opting to bypass defence reduction and go for ZCB instead, to earn higher damage and increase their chance of MVP. Most people also avoid freeze roles since you’re basically taking one for the team while everyone else runs thralls.
Starting to see it more in TFA now that people have started to figure out the raid. Happens all the time in ToB and ToA too.
What if MVP was reworked to reward team play as well? E.g. amount of defence reduced, amount of freezes landed etc. Damage will still contribute, but helping the team should also be rewarded. It’s probably not an issue for split teams, but FFA is rampant with it.

Suggestion Ascension crossbows
It's kind of awkward that the ascension cbow needs its own specific bolt. It means that even with a quiver if you want to bring a ZCB spec and a tbow you need to bring a manual bolt switch. Isn't this why the quivers in the game in the first place?
My suggestion is to make it possible to add/charge bolts to the crossbows given they are unique, just like the blowpipe, the weapon it's competing with.

Achievement The Inferno - It’s finally over.
I started my journey completely fresh almost 2 weeks ago. Obsessed, watched as many guides as I could, and sent as many attempts as I could mentally bear. After nearly 30 attempts, 5 zuks, and liquidating gear for supplies, I did it. And you can too.
Yes it’s hard and there’s a ton to learn. If you can give it your best and treat it as a learning opportunity every run, you will eventually get better.
Good luck on your next run.
