Been playing a lot of GX thanks to the new codes, so I got two extra gcn controllers just to unlock this little guy. Can't believe I managed to put in all those button presses correctly lol

I started back up a couple months ago and climbed up from S24 or 25 (don't remember off the top of my head)! I'm so happy right now! The Markiplier clip was pretty much my reaction.

G-Diffuser, the native PC port of F-Zero X, now runs on macOS. I contributed the Mac port and it was merged upstream a couple weeks ago.

This is compiled native ARM64, rendering through Metal. Runs on M1 and newer. No translation layer, no Rosetta.

The port required rewriting platform-specific code (memory management, threading, framebuffer sync) to work with Apple’s APIs. The original GPU sync approach caused flickering on Apple Silicon, so I replaced it with proper Metal event signaling for async frame presentation.

Video is a screen recording from my M1 MacBook Pro so what you see is what you get. The source is public on GitHub if anyone wants to run it on Mac!

tldr: use the computer version to enter the cheat and transfer the save to the 3DS, then delete the default save and rename the new save with the cheat to whatever the default save was called. ​

Due to the lack of L button mapping in the 3DS version of G Diffuser, and my own skill issues, I was having trouble entering the cheat code to unlock all tracks and machines. So I took​ to the web to find a 100% save but they were all in the wrong format (g diffuser uses .sav) and nobody wrote down any solutions I could find so ill share what i did.

Since you need the PC version of G Diffuser to get the files for the 3DS version, open that up, enter the cheat, and close. Then put that save file ( .../gdiffuser/saves/fzerox.sav) on your 3DS SD card in the directory 3ds/gdiffuser/saves. Copy the existing save's file name then delete it.​ I did the EK version so I had to rename the file from fzerox.sav to fzerox-EK.sav, but that may not be necessary for another version. Just rename it to what the default one was called if it's different from what the pc version makes.

And it worked for me.

Hopefully this saves someone a little time. ​

Hi all, I've shared the F-Zero X 3DS port before. Giving the latest (and probably last big) update, which is the addition of local wireless & online multiplayer. Also adds QR code and SD card imports for the track editor, 64dd EK support for o3DS, and bug fixes.

The port runs on o3DS and n3DS at 60fps (but multiplayer is at a mostly 30fps for o3DS, still plays great).

Hope you all give it a try.

I will host the default matchmaking server for the next month or two, after that you'll have to host your own from your PC or 3DS.

I can't keep up with the Master AI, as for some reason I bounce and get hurt after every jump. How do you land flat?

Looking to get good with blood falcon and im pretty sure he relys heavily on mts (momentum turbo shifting) or something like that. Any tips are apreciated

Hey all, I posted last month about this F-Zero X New 3DS port. I'm back and happy to report that it works on the old 3DS too now, in full stereoscopic 3D at 60fps!

In addition, the 64dd Expansion Kit works on the New 3DS! And there is an option to move the HUD to the bottom screen, really making it feel like a 3DS game.

As stated previously: this was made entirely with AI (Claude). I'm a veteran Software Engineer experimenting with new tools.

Hi everyone, I’ve been working on bringing F Zero X into VR and it’s now available for PCVR and standalone Quest.

I wanted it to feel like you’re actually sitting inside one of the ships, not just playing with a VR camera. A lot of work has gone into the cockpit, the sense of speed and getting it running smoothly, with up to 120fps, much longer draw distance depending on your hardware and settings.

I’ve added customisable cockpits, pilots, ship finishes and lighting, plus a steering wheel based on the F Zero AX arcade cabinet that you can use with one or both hands. There’s enhanced N64 style haptics through the VR controllers too.

The trails look great flying past the cockpit, especially with the sparks, boost effects and live HUD. On PCVR you can see your pilot reflected in the glass, and scratches gradually appear as your energy drops, then fade when you recharge. There are also little dash buddies you can pick up and move around while driving.

You can use cockpit or third person views, or have it switch to third person just for spin attacks. There’s a Toybox scale option, seat adjustments and plenty of settings to play with. Quest runs standalone with lighter effects.

Beaten the Story Mode only once on Normal Mode and it has been well over a decade since I had last beaten it…and I am trying to beat it on Hard Mode and the difficulty is ridiculous even for me. I can’t even see how I could beat it on Very Hard if i can’t even beat it on Hard. I am having difficulty on Chapter 7 to Chapter 9. I was able to get down most of the previous chapters on my own without aid but it seems the difficulty spike is catching up to me and it did on Chapter 7. Any tips on what I should do to make it easier to beat?

As much as I love the chaos that happens from the 99 player modes, sometimes I just want to relax and play the classic mode and I really think Nintendo should add a classic only mode. I think it would also be a bit easier to newcomers as well to get the basic feel of f-zero, and to not be indulged in the chaos of racing 98 others lol. What do you all think about this ?
