Politics Has anyone gone to early voting today?

Was it any better than the experiences posted yesterday of waiting a couple of hours in line? I’m supposed to take my elderly aunt tomorrow and I’m unsure if this is a good idea. Due to my schedule I can’t take her any time except between 12:30-3 and really hope it won’t fill that whole time!

Question Looking for fellow lonely folks

I’m lonely lately. Looking for purely platonic friendships. I like roller skating, hiking, watching movies, anime, crafting, and just hanging out. Serious answers only please

Discussion Local TCG store

I was hoping I could play some TCG games with people but honestly I don't even know if Cleveland has one. Can I ask if any of you have a place you like going?

If that's okay with you

Events ISO: officiate for my 11/7/26 wedding

My fiancée and I are looking for a last-minute officiant for our wedding on Saturday, November 7th! Our current officiant doesn’t seem as open to a nontraditional ceremony as we originally thought, and we want someone who is genuinely LGBTQ+ friendly and excited to help us make our ceremony feel like us. I am again going to reiterate that our ceremony will be very non traditional.
We have a very slim budget being that it is super close to the date but we know how to throw a party! You’re more than welcome to stay for dinner and celebrate with us afterward.
If you’re available or know someone who might be a good fit, please comment or message me. We’d be incredibly grateful for literally any leads!

Should you accidentally take home your LED wristbands from a Cavaliers game there are 2 decently good AAA inside. Don't let them go to waste!

Help a Tourist Man suffering from mental health issues is VIOLENTLY arrested in his own home without a warrant or giving officers permission to enter -- is this legal? There was no judges order, no imminent threat, and He's now in jail for resisting arrest. This seems to violate the 4th amendment.

LOCATION: Ohio , Lake Township of Wood county The closest big city to this is Cleveland. I cannot find help in Toledo.

A mental health call was made on an individual(Ry) with a history of psychiatric hospitalization. The officer seemed to twist the incident from a mental health call into a domestic violence situation to justify an arrest. Wouldn't this violate the 4th amendment?

Around the 11 minute mark the officer lies to the individual and states that Ry's roommate asked him[the officer] to go inside and grab something for him (the roommate). This was untrue. It seemed like the officer did this because he knew he could not go inside in this specific scenario legally without permission. Ry does not grant him permission but the officer tries to grab Ry through the door. WHen Ry Retreats inside, the officer breaks in. Doesn't that violate the 4th amendment?

Ry was out on bail and posted the full bodycam video to youtube. Unfortunately that appears to have placed a bigger target on his back and now hes being aggressively prosecuted rather than receiving the mental health help he needs. Looking at his other videos it appears both his parents may have been diagnosed with bipolar or schizophrenia at some point, so hes very likely to be suffering from the same. He seems like a kind soul dealing with a lot of trauma and no one to help .

Ry is currently in jail for resisting arrest. he also does not appear to have family support or any resources to help

Housing/Apartments Help Me Look?

• Upvotes

I need decent housing! Prefer my own place, not really looking to move in with anyone if I can avoid it.

I am in an insane living situation renting from the family member of a friend. Like, even my friend is trying to get the situation with their family member under control bc it's so out of line.

Unfortunately I have some medical issues that complicate where I can live. Right now, I need to stay on the west side. Rocky River, Lakewood, Fairview - all good. Don't prefer cities of North Olmsted or Westlake but the distance works too if there's a good spot.

I really can't have a water damaged living space. Tough with apartments, I know. Single floor units tend to have the least plumbing issues tho. I can't have stairs or elevators that go out all the time. I know we all deal with pests sometimes but bc of an allergic condition I can't play with anything more serious than like, ants. Or I start actually dying pretty quick.

If any of you live in a building you think is reasonably well maintained and safe, lemme know and I will call to see if they have anything available! Of course if you know of a good unit coming up available soon, I wouldn't snub any extra info :)

Not listing a budget bc well... I have a cosigner and I'll figure out the rest. First and foremost I need to get away from the insanity before anything can shake out.

Thx community 🙏 it's a crazy place sometimes, but it's home.

Question Does anyone remember the band Mindsnap from Cleveland?

Post image
• Upvotes

Does anyone remember the band Mindsnap from Cleveland? They played the 'nu-metal' genre during the early 2000s and released a couple CDs including one called Perceptions Of The Truth. Does anyone have a copy of that CD? I've been looking for one for a while now to archive it completely but I haven't had any luck coming across a copy. Thank you.

Recommendations Restaurants with event space for wedding receptions

• Upvotes

My fiancé and I would like to hold our wedding reception at a restaurant’s event space near the westside of Cleveland. It would be on a Saturday evening in the late Spring. We‘re working on the guest list, thinking of inviting 65–80 people. It would just be a dinner at the reception, no DJ/dancing. No specific budget, just looking to get an idea of what restaurants could be possibilities.

Politics Voted early today. The BoE claims faster and more efficient voting; meanwhile I waited longer than 2018, 2022 and 2024 COMBINED.

Got in line at 2:30 today, thinking I'd be out no later than 3:00. I didn't get my ballot until 3:50! There were more people in line today than my previous early voting experiences, but not enough to justify 80 minutes of waiting! And then they had the audacity to sent out a text as I was leaving about how much more efficient it is...I'm all for early voting, and am happy to see the turnout, but plan to be waiting a long time.

Edit: Voted by mail in 2020, for obvious reasons.

Question Jury duty but sick pet

I got the jury duty letter to serve this week! My number has not been called yet but I now have a cat who has an infection after getting neutered. The little guy needs medicine and monitoring. My question is- should I try to find someone to pet sit or are sick pets a reason to call in? TIA

Question Does any bank in Cleveland handle US Savings Bonds from non-customers?

I bank with Citizen, and they won’t do anything with savings bonds. They notarized my paperwork and wished me luck. Other than mailing them in, any suggestions?

Recommendations Local Bone/Antler Jewelers(?)

Kind of a weird ask, but my partner and I are looking for any local artisans that work with antlers and such for a pair of engagement rings of sorts. I've been looking online but Etsy is such a shot in the dark these days. Hoping to support local/nearby artists but I'm having some difficulty. Any info in the right direction would be great, thanks!

Recommendations I just wanted to say thanks for the help the other week with suggestions for my weekend in Cleveland.

I went up last weekend, stayed at the Holiday Inn Cleveland Clinic, checked out the Cleveland Museum of Art, the went to Pickwick and Frolic, had a great meal, saw a not so great comedian. Then went to the Browns game and watched them win with like, ZERO seconds left in the game, I thought the stadium was going to collapse like the walls of Jericho. The game was awesome though, even when the Browns were down, the energy was insane, it was like a rock concert, AND a football game at the same time. Awesome trip. I had forgotten about Pickwick until someone mentioned it in a comment. Next time I need a break from Columbus, I might just come up for a couple days again.
