Mod Post We are getting a transphobic brigade done by bots

1.4k Upvotes

There is currently a brigade happening where if you comment anywhere on this sub bots with transphobic usernames will give you free awards, if you get these awwards you can click them and report them as well as go into these bots accounts and report them, this is the ONLY way we can get rid of them, banning them to my knowledge doesnt stop them from giving these awards and we cant see who gave an award so its up to the individual user to report them.

Reddit admins should get on top of this soon and start mass removing these accounts, for now the best i can tell you is to report it so they are aware, it should slow down with time.

Edit: it seems most of them have been banned, good job to those who reported them <3

Mod Post Genderbent Draco Malfoy Mega-thread

Post image
719 Upvotes

Everyone keeps telling me, "CuteJuice, you're the coolest person I know, we need to ban Draco Malfoid!", "CuteJuice, my favorite moderator, I'm sick of seeing this green freak all over my page!", "CuteJuice, I love you so much, why aren't you banning Draco Malfoy genderbends!". We have heard you and fret not, Hatethissmug citizens, we are trying something new.

Usually when faced with this sort of thing, as you've seen with Lesbian Space Princess and The Amazing Digital Circus, we outright ban these things. These things usually blow over in a week or two, and we repeal the ban. This time, we wanted to try something different. Instead of stopping conversations around it altogether, we want to try starting a mega-thread instead! This means people can continue to discuss things, but it won't clog everyone else's feed with the same few things over and over. New posts will be taken down and redirected here.

Of course, sub rules still apply. It'll get locked if people get too rowdy just like every other post, but we wanted to give this a try and see if it's a viable option moving forward. Please remain as respectful as possible, and if all goes well, we can try this moving forward with other trends as well rather than shutting them down completely!

General I hate this style

Post image
2.3k Upvotes

I genuinely hate the "style" if you can even call it that of having your pants part way down showing your ass.

Noone wants to see that bruh. Everyone that does this always has jeans with a belt use the damn belt thats what its for.

Seriously how is this comfortable.

How is this fashionable? (Idk anything about fashion)

Who thought this was a good idea.

Idk what else to say but this subreddit HAS to have 200 characters to post and I can't really rant about pants that much. Why can't a person just simply hatethissmug without writing an essay in why they hate that specific smug? 2 in 1 post ig lmao.

Thing Phone Wars and acting like Android users were the ones hating

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

1.9k Upvotes

Yes this is a fucking AI bear dancing video I saw on tiktok

And yes I have a Samsung, stfu

As soon as the duo started getting heat for its issues these posts are popping up, and now Apple users are acting like Android users were the ones being annoying, and instantly start flocking to "Well our 2k phone breaks easily, but you're is a Samsung so HA"

Aint never heard of someone getting made fun of for having an IPhone

  1. This is so pointless, because an Apple phone gets in hot water a bunch of Apple users flock to complaining about Samsung and others

  2. Istg this phone wars thing is one sided

Yall will probably say im contradicting the title, but let's be real. BOTH are perfectly fucking fine to have

General This kind of engagement bait

There are plenty of accounts on X whose post history looks like a Google search history. Easy to answer questions and people engage with it. I am unsure whether people posting this already know the answer or if they are just bots...

Meta I don't like r/antisex

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Okay, I know saying that finding incels on reddit is like fork found in kitchen, but this sub is like a roach infestation of them.

As an aro-ace person myself, I just want to clarify that I don't think it's wrong for someone to be repulsed by sex, or not find it enjoyable. However, I do think it's not right to shame people who do participate in sex, or people who aren't bothered by it.

This sub is, blatantly, just a hate sub and causes more harm than good for people who are trying to explore their sexuality. If you're an asexual person, or fall under the asexual/aromantic umbrella, I'd suggest not going through this subreddit because a lot of people there are very ace/aro phobic. And if you are a sexually active person, don't even bother.

Instead of that stereotype of aro-ace people liking garlic bread, this entire subreddit is just white bread and butter, and if you even THINK about suggesting garlic, they'll tell you to kill yourself. That is what r/antisex feels like.

(Just for anyone reading, I swear this isn't hate speech, it's just genuine criticism (and despair) for a subreddit I dislike. Thank you.)

Non-fictional I hate the memefication of this very serious and grim quote.

Post image
2.9k Upvotes

The full quote is about the crimes against humanity committed by Henry Kissinger and the fact he was never held accountable for them, I hate when people use this as a meme template for light-hearted topics and jokes.

“Once you've been to Cambodia, you'll never stop wanting to beat Henry Kissinger to death with your bear hands. You will never again be able to open a newspaper and read about the treacherous, prevaricating, murderous scumbag sitting down for a nice chat with Charlie Rose or attending some black-tie affair for a new glossy magazine without choking. Witness what Henry did in Cambodia - the fruits of his genius for statesmanship - and you will never understand why he's not sitting in the dock at The Hague next to Milošević. While Henry continues to nibble nori rolls and remake at A-list parties, Cambodia, the neutral nation he illegally bombed, invaded, undermined, and then threw to the dogs, is still trying to raise itself up on its one remaining leg.”

Thing AI DETECTORS

Post image
437 Upvotes

I HATE AI DETECTORS!!! I have been in trouble MULTIPLE times at school for "using AI" because of these dumbass websites. Apparently my entire paper I spend hours working on doesn't count because this RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR came back as 10% AI. My literal future is based off what AI detectors say, and teachers—some who barely know what AI is—blindly trust an outcome that is completely insignificant. I have never once used AI on a written paper. Anyone know how I can just change my writing style?

General Gatekeeping "AAVE"

Post image
3.0k Upvotes

I am a fairly leftwing person, but seriously? I thought we were done with this shit. Hate to be the "woke has gone too far" person, but in what world is using popular AAVE terms, now basically internet slang, in any way harmful or bad?

And it makes me even more annoyed when people actually go and apologize for it. There was some influencer I saw who did a whole apology for saying "no cap". We've gone mad.

I am a mixed race non American, but I genuinely cannot relate to anyone who feels offended when someone adopts slang from your culture. Should the French be angry when you drop a "je ne sais quoi" in a futile attempt to sound sophisticated? Should Germans get upset when you comment about "Schadenfreude" on the Ethan Klein situation?

If you've ever had a social circle adopt part of your speech style, it's a great feeling, it's a sign of respect. its not a slight against you ffs. I hope no brits get mad at me for stealing "for fucks sake" from them just now.

-edit- AAVE stands for African American Vernacular English, and refers to the common speaking style of African Americans.

Language as a formerly homeless person, i hate when people use the term "unhoused"

Thumbnail
gallery
260 Upvotes

i've been homeless but i don't think it takes someone to experience that to see how stupid this performative rebranding of the word "homeless" is. instead of doing anything that is actually impactful and productive for homeless people or to make systemic changes that prevent homelessness, this is just a new word that attempts to get rid of the stigma toward homeless people. it doesn't work and it pisses me off so bad when i see it.

it is especially gross when people who consider themselves "progressive" use this to sound better than other people. just say homeless lmao. i promise no one who is homeless gives a shit about this.

Animation These dirty little fucking perverts

Post image
331 Upvotes

Why must these exist? I feel violated just looking at them. I might have to delete this imagine off my phone. I recoil when looking at this. The sight makes me feel trapped.

As a kid, I had nightmares of these things crawling inside of me. Staring at me through the window. I'd sometimes make 'contracts' in my mind so I would feel like they'd stay away. I wanted to shower and scrub myself clean for an hour for each second I saw them. They look like they'd eat your shit. I hate it. They're just so profoundly disgusting with those smiles. With those eyes. I hate it. I hate it so fucking much. If I wanted to quit porn, I'd look at this image everytime I got an urge, and become dryer than the Sahara desert.

I wanted to cry everytime I saw these on Netflix. I genuinely had to leave the room if it played. I feel similarly to this day, although to a lesser extent. They're dirty. Horrifically dirty. A single minute of this show will make me more uncomfortable than any horror movie made. Not even The Human Centipede can rival this mindfuck.

Does the sight of these things make anyone else so profoundly uncomfortable and disgusted?

Gaming I hate Fortnite and I hate how it caused permanent damage to the video game industry

Post image
• Upvotes

I have been saying this for a while now, but I fully believe that Fortnite is either fully responsible or heavily popularized most, if not all, of the problems the video game industry faces today. Microtransactions? Would have died out already if it weren't for Fortnite. Overreliance on crossovers? Blame Fortnite. Normalization of AI usage? Fortnite's fault. I can go on and on and it'll only get worse the longer it goes on

Media Tropes Hate when people headcanon of characters as trans

Before anyone comes at me at the comments or any homophobic/transphobic ppl try to praise me or some shit.I want to clarify that I am NOT transphobic, I support them/respect them fully :)
So let me explain;
I don’t mind headcanons and I won’t stop anyone who creates them. They are fun.
HOWEVER It gives me weird vibes when in SMALL cases of hcs people headcanon CERTAIN strong, independent women with more “masculine” traits and a more masculine build trans(mulan or vi from arcane,or mizu from blue eyed samurai as more well known examples) or soft, shy, overly with a more quiet/reserved or even bubbly/energetic personality and more feminine features men as born female(victor, wylan or Todd from dps -sry for some “deep” pulls here…

Idk it just kinda falls into stereotypes, because not every buff androgynous women must be trans or every more “feminine” by society standards man have to be trans,Uhm, like cis buff women and skinny men can exist too!
Plus it also comes as misogynistic too for those cases of women headcanons. Its almost like people are trying to deny the existence of strong cis women.
I acknowledge and know that various trans people exist too, that fall into different categories (and undoubtedly the need of more accurate trans representation that doesn’t always fall into the stereotypes or have no personality ) therefore the need of finding representation out of hc
That’s all.

Ik this post is prob going to be downvoted a lot,idc I also wrote this super hastily so have a nice day or night lads :)
Also is this considered “hatethissmug” enough?

General I hate how people misrepresent the history of sagging

Thumbnail
gallery
• Upvotes

A lot of the arguments I see that hate on sagging say that it’s because “it’s gay, it was an invitation to other prisoners etc etc”. People run with the first thing they see on the internet and don’t consider the cultural or historical context at all.

The origin of sagging has been debunked multiple times. Yes it originated in prisons but NOT because of gay prisoners. It came a long way from there and was taken on by black men as a form of protest against rigid societal structures. It’s so disingenuous to act like a lot of the hate sagging got/gets wasn’t from anti-black rhetoric and racism.

This is a good video on it: https://www.tiktok.com/@logik0007/video/7652011942206278934

And an articles: https://cladwell.com/style-tips/pull-your-pants-up-a-brief-history-of-saggy-pants

https://thefunambulist.net/magazine/03-clothing-politics/sagging-pants-criminalization-racialized-adornment-eric-darnell-pritchard

I hate how when you bring this up, people say you’re being sensitive or making things up. It is factual there was an entire campaign which disproportionately targeted young black and queer men and the way they chose to express themselves.

It’s also a double standard. People will say things like “oh he’s asking for easy access” but will be the same people to say let women wear what they want.

I hate how sometimes people don’t let you explain the cultural and historical context of certain clothing styles and chalk everything up to “trashy and disgusting” without taking two seconds to think about how it might affect the community it’s most prevalent in.

You can think certain styles or trends aren’t your cup of tea, but at least take two seconds to understand why some people choose to dress that way, and why it’s offensive to some to label it as “gang-banging, hood culture, asking for it (gross btw) or disgusting.”

Edit: I think it’s really telling how fast people are to call it gross and trashy saying they don’t care and not actually engaging with the point of the post. Thanks for proving the point reddit. Never change.

(i feel like i forgot to mention the fact that this was targeted towards spoiled kids, not people with a job who worked for it)

Non-fictional When people think their way of doing it is the only right way and everyone else is stupid

Thumbnail
gallery

"It's football btw" that's true, but it's also soccer.

dd/mm/yyyy, mm/dd/yyyy, and yyyy/mm/dd are all the correct way of writing the date

fahrenheit and celcius are both correct ways for measuring temperature and superior in their own ways.

3.14 and 3,14 are different ways of writing the same number.

I get when people say "this is the only right way of doing it" as a joke but people genuinely believe that every way they do it is the only right way because they cherry pick every bit of historical evidence and circle jerk with their fellow locals from EchoChamberville, Alabama, that use the same systems for everything

the football/soccer thing annoys me so much especially. many people call it football because it has a valid historical background, and the exact same thing goes for calling it soccer. you are not special or superior for using the name you were taught to use.

lets just accept that everyone is different and hold hands and dance in circles in the meadows

Corporation/Company We Had It and Fumbled

Post image
179 Upvotes

I hate this! Im not championing a multi billion dollar company, do not get that twisted.

However, I work semi directly with PepsiCo - They gave y'all a chance and nobody cared. They were the only fortune 50 company to decrease prices across 80% of their portfolio. All products, Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Quaker and Tropicana.

Obviously, not out of the kindness of their hearts. They thought with current social sentiment on pricing that if they cut down, and their competitors didn’t, people would flock to buy the above products.

Instead, people kept going to their coke, nabisco, and other competitors who INCREASED prices. Now they’re facing layoffs or having to increase prices next year. So now they’re increasing prices to match their competition. Experiment failed.

So if yall want to know why the prices aren't going down it's because consumers don't care enough to make a trade off

EDIT: I want to make it clear as some have been very upset at the idea that the customer WHO CANT afford a $7 bag of chips is being blamed! That is NOT the point of this post.

The point of the post is that they reduced the price, and people still went and paid $7.50 for their preferred brand, allowing those brands to keep their prices high.

General I hate getting celebrity death notifications where they don’t state the person‘s name.

Post image

To me, it’s disgusting as fuck. They only stated the person‘s name if they’re like a big name celebrity like Dolly Parton. To me that feels absolutely disgusting disingenuous, and disrespectful. Though some of them might’ve not been big stars like others they’re still worthy enough for you to include their name in the goddamn notification. Don’t turn people’s deaths into click bait

Roleplay/In Character I hate happiness.

Post image
77 Upvotes

Why do people waste their limited time on this planet expressing "joy" and "positivity" when they could be working and making money? Being happy is so goddamn stupid and childish, us mature adults are meant to be serious about everything 24/7. Also, fuck sunshine and puppies, they're devices created by the government to force us to be happy; I think they should all die, and also happiness should be illegal in every country on the planet!

(Also mods, if you're seeing this, I'm role-playing as Scrooge, specifically the image of him with the text "The man that hated happiness" because that image is funny.)

No this is not you cringe teenage tsundere shit grow up.

Non-fictional I hate when people use the symbol Âą as "more or less"

I see it informally in short messages like "I expect Âą 10 people to come"

NO, NEGATIVE NUMBER OF PEOPLE DO NOT EXIST.

It should only be used when talking about ranges of tolerance ("This candidate may get 30 Âą 5% of votes") or to talk about the roots of a number (square root of 4 is Âą2)
