Gaming I hate Fortnite and I hate how it caused permanent damage to the video game industry

Post image
395 Upvotes

I have been saying this for a while now, but I fully believe that Fortnite is either fully responsible or heavily popularized most, if not all, of the problems the video game industry faces today. Microtransactions? Would have died out already if it weren't for Fortnite. Overreliance on crossovers? Blame Fortnite. Normalization of AI usage? Fortnite's fault. I can go on and on and it'll only get worse the longer it goes on

Animation These dirty little fucking perverts

Post image
461 Upvotes

Why must these exist? I feel violated just looking at them. I might have to delete this imagine off my phone. I recoil when looking at this. The sight makes me feel trapped.

As a kid, I had nightmares of these things crawling inside of me. Staring at me through the window. I'd sometimes make 'contracts' in my mind so I would feel like they'd stay away. I wanted to shower and scrub myself clean for an hour for each second I saw them. They look like they'd eat your shit. I hate it. They're just so profoundly disgusting with those smiles. With those eyes. I hate it. I hate it so fucking much. If I wanted to quit porn, I'd look at this image everytime I got an urge, and become dryer than the Sahara desert.

I wanted to cry everytime I saw these on Netflix. I genuinely had to leave the room if it played. I feel similarly to this day, although to a lesser extent. They're dirty. Horrifically dirty. A single minute of this show will make me more uncomfortable than any horror movie made. Not even The Human Centipede can rival this mindfuck.

Does the sight of these things make anyone else so profoundly uncomfortable and disgusted?

Gaming Paid games that act like it’s a Free to Play game.

Post image
592 Upvotes

I’m using Call of Duty as an example*

$70-$100 base game that doesn’t give you everything there is to offer. Paid Battlepass, shop, and then it erases every year for the next game.

At least when Fortnite does it, it’s a FREE game! You KEEP the cosmetics because there isn’t a new game coming out every year.

Battlefield 6 has a Battlepass and shop now. Rainbow Six has a Battlepass and shop. Even GTA6 base cost doesn’t give you everything.

I cannot stand a game where you pay a premium price for a free-to-play monetization model.

AND

What makes it all worse, most of the playerbases are OKAY with it! Sure there’s a few vocal members but for the most part, they just deal with it. They will never change unless you stop using your wallet.

Animation I hate how black characters are portrayed in “progressive” media

Post image
28 Upvotes

I’m a 27 year old black man. I grew up pretty much exclusively around black people my entire life and I have not met a single black girl/woman that looks like this. Like, really? I don’t care that it’s “stylized” it looks terrible and racist. Not every black person has prognathism and if they do, it’s NO WHERE near like this. I mean look at her fucking jawline. There are memes made by actual fucking racist Nazis that look just like this character

Like, are we serious? Do these people think this representation is doing us a service? Why do they ALWAYS make black women look either inhuman or masculine ?

There are so many gorgeous black women that I encounter every day, gorgeous black celebrities that people can use as a reference point like Megan, maya boyd, anok yai ect ect yet, every piece of progressive media portrays black women as the most hideous things ever. It’s fucking exhausting

Concord, hades, Wendell & wild, death stranding ect.. all feature black female characters that are either super fucking fat or with masculine/exaggerated features, like a jawline that’s about as long as a fucking arm

Why cant they just make black people look good or even just normal??? STOP putting us in your shit If you’re going to make us look this fucking terrible PLEASE

Tl:DR: I’m tired of black people being depicted as racist caricatures in animated/video game media instead of normal looking like everyone else

Language as a formerly homeless person, i hate when people use the term "unhoused"

Thumbnail

i've been homeless but i don't think it takes someone to experience that to see how stupid this performative rebranding of the word "homeless" is. instead of doing anything that is actually impactful and productive for homeless people or to make systemic changes that prevent homelessness, this is just a new word that attempts to get rid of the stigma toward homeless people. it doesn't work and it pisses me off so bad when i see it.

it is especially gross when people who consider themselves "progressive" use this to sound better than other people. just say homeless lmao. i promise no one who is homeless gives a shit about this.

Thing AI DETECTORS

Post image
845 Upvotes

I HATE AI DETECTORS!!! I have been in trouble MULTIPLE times at school for "using AI" because of these dumbass websites. Apparently my entire paper I spend hours working on doesn't count because this RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR came back as 10% AI. My literal future is based off what AI detectors say, and teachers—some who barely know what AI is—blindly trust an outcome that is completely insignificant. I have never once used AI on a written paper. Anyone know how I can just change my writing style?

General I hate this style

Post image

I genuinely hate the "style" if you can even call it that of having your pants part way down showing your ass.

Noone wants to see that bruh. Everyone that does this always has jeans with a belt use the damn belt thats what its for.

Seriously how is this comfortable.

How is this fashionable? (Idk anything about fashion)

Who thought this was a good idea.

Idk what else to say but this subreddit HAS to have 200 characters to post and I can't really rant about pants that much. Why can't a person just simply hatethissmug without writing an essay in why they hate that specific smug? 2 in 1 post ig lmao.

General I hate how people misrepresent the history of sagging

Thumbnail
gallery
25 Upvotes

A lot of the arguments I see that hate on sagging say that it’s because “it’s gay, it was an invitation to other prisoners etc etc”. People run with the first thing they see on the internet and don’t consider the cultural or historical context at all.

The origin of sagging has been debunked multiple times. Yes it originated in prisons but NOT because of gay prisoners. It came a long way from there and was taken on by black men as a form of protest against rigid societal structures. It’s so disingenuous to act like a lot of the hate sagging got/gets wasn’t from anti-black rhetoric and racism.

This is a good video on it: https://www.tiktok.com/@logik0007/video/7652011942206278934

And an articles: https://cladwell.com/style-tips/pull-your-pants-up-a-brief-history-of-saggy-pants

https://thefunambulist.net/magazine/03-clothing-politics/sagging-pants-criminalization-racialized-adornment-eric-darnell-pritchard

I hate how when you bring this up, people say you’re being sensitive or making things up. It is factual there was an entire campaign which disproportionately targeted young black and queer men and the way they chose to express themselves.

It’s also a double standard. People will say things like “oh he’s asking for easy access” but will be the same people to say let women wear what they want.

I hate how sometimes people don’t let you explain the cultural and historical context of certain clothing styles and chalk everything up to “trashy and disgusting” without taking two seconds to think about how it might affect the community it’s most prevalent in.

You can think certain styles or trends aren’t your cup of tea, but at least take two seconds to understand why some people choose to dress that way, and why it’s offensive to some to label it as “gang-banging, hood culture, asking for it (gross btw) or disgusting.”

Edit: I think it’s really telling how fast people are to call it gross and trashy saying they don’t care and not actually engaging with the point of the post. Thanks for proving the point reddit. Never change.

Thing Phone Wars and acting like Android users were the ones hating

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

3.2k Upvotes

Yes this is a fucking AI bear dancing video I saw on tiktok

And yes I have a Samsung, stfu

As soon as the duo started getting heat for its issues these posts are popping up, and now Apple users are acting like Android users were the ones being annoying, and instantly start flocking to "Well our 2k phone breaks easily, but you're is a Samsung so HA"

Aint never heard of someone getting made fun of for having an IPhone

  1. This is so pointless, because an Apple phone gets in hot water a bunch of Apple users flock to complaining about Samsung and others

  2. Istg this phone wars thing is one sided

Yall will probably say im contradicting the title, but let's be real. BOTH are perfectly fucking fine to have

Meta I don't like r/antisex

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

Okay, I know saying that finding incels on reddit is like fork found in kitchen, but this sub is like a roach infestation of them.

As an aro-ace person myself, I just want to clarify that I don't think it's wrong for someone to be repulsed by sex, or not find it enjoyable. However, I do think it's not right to shame people who do participate in sex, or people who aren't bothered by it.

This sub is, blatantly, just a hate sub and causes more harm than good for people who are trying to explore their sexuality. If you're an asexual person, or fall under the asexual/aromantic umbrella, I'd suggest not going through this subreddit because a lot of people there are very ace/aro phobic. And if you are a sexually active person, don't even bother.

Instead of that stereotype of aro-ace people liking garlic bread, this entire subreddit is just white bread and butter, and if you even THINK about suggesting garlic, they'll tell you to kill yourself. That is what r/antisex feels like.

(Just for anyone reading, I swear this isn't hate speech, it's just genuine criticism (and despair) for a subreddit I dislike. Thank you.)

no hate on Blunt Brothers, nor their animations or videos; i have absolutely zero gripe with those. my dissent is directed purely at the style in which their eyes are drawn

again, they have full autonomy to illustrate their characters as they wish on their own damn channel, and the eyes are part of their identity too; i simply don't fw the style

Corporation/Company I hate the fact that there no good competitors to Youtube if they are they became irrelevant and Youtube has a monopoly

Post image
190 Upvotes

Youtube and Google in general has been misusing it's monopoly over video sharing for years like removing dislinkes not removing suggestive content, too many ads. They even intentionally slow their site down if you use adblocker or stop you from playing and force you to buy yt premium.

However no one can leave yt because obviously knowledge comedy science etc come from this one platform only. They have been several competititiors to Youtube that tried to dethroned that either failed or faded into obscurity like Dailymotion, Video, Storyfire, Odyssey etc. Either they don't have most of the greatest influencers there or have done shit like Dailymotion removing comments. Yt always gets away with everything just because there is no one who can beat them. Established ones like Niconico and Bilibili are regional only and are made just to cater to their own country audience. The other companies that are trying are even worse like Twitter and Instagram.

It's just sad there is no one to beat YouTube and people will stay no matter what just because there is nothing else to beat them.

Non-fictional I hate the memefication of this very serious and grim quote.

Post image
3.1k Upvotes

The full quote is about the crimes against humanity committed by Henry Kissinger and the fact he was never held accountable for them, I hate when people use this as a meme template for light-hearted topics and jokes.

“Once you've been to Cambodia, you'll never stop wanting to beat Henry Kissinger to death with your bear hands. You will never again be able to open a newspaper and read about the treacherous, prevaricating, murderous scumbag sitting down for a nice chat with Charlie Rose or attending some black-tie affair for a new glossy magazine without choking. Witness what Henry did in Cambodia - the fruits of his genius for statesmanship - and you will never understand why he's not sitting in the dock at The Hague next to Milošević. While Henry continues to nibble nori rolls and remake at A-list parties, Cambodia, the neutral nation he illegally bombed, invaded, undermined, and then threw to the dogs, is still trying to raise itself up on its one remaining leg.”

General Gatekeeping "AAVE"

Post image
3.1k Upvotes

I am a fairly leftwing person, but seriously? I thought we were done with this shit. Hate to be the "woke has gone too far" person, but in what world is using popular AAVE terms, now basically internet slang, in any way harmful or bad?

And it makes me even more annoyed when people actually go and apologize for it. There was some influencer I saw who did a whole apology for saying "no cap". We've gone mad.

I am a mixed race non American, but I genuinely cannot relate to anyone who feels offended when someone adopts slang from your culture. Should the French be angry when you drop a "je ne sais quoi" in a futile attempt to sound sophisticated? Should Germans get upset when you comment about "Schadenfreude" on the Ethan Klein situation?

If you've ever had a social circle adopt part of your speech style, it's a great feeling, it's a sign of respect. its not a slight against you ffs. I hope no brits get mad at me for stealing "for fucks sake" from them just now.

-edit- AAVE stands for African American Vernacular English, and refers to the common speaking style of African Americans.

Thing I have a great disdain towards subcompact handguns.

Thumbnail

They just don’t look right. They don’t fit in most hands properly and just look too chode-ish. They lack the aura that their full-size counterparts have. Imagine if Solid Snake carried a VP9-SK instead of an MK-23, If WW2 GIs were handed Bersa Thunders instead of M1911s, or if Sam Fischer had a P365 instead of an FN-57. At full-size and compact, you already get way better ballistics.

Media Tropes Hate when people headcanon of characters as trans

Before anyone comes at me at the comments or any homophobic/transphobic ppl try to praise me or some shit.I want to clarify that I am NOT transphobic, I support them/respect them fully :)
So let me explain;
I don’t mind headcanons and I won’t stop anyone who creates them. They are fun.
HOWEVER It gives me weird vibes when in SMALL cases of hcs people headcanon always CERTAIN strong, independent women with more “masculine” traits and a more masculine build trans(mulan or vi from arcane,or mizu from blue eyed samurai as more well known examples) or soft, shy, overly with a more quiet/reserved or even bubbly/energetic personality and more feminine features men as born female(victor, wylan or Todd from dps -sry for some “deep” pulls here…

Idk it just kinda falls into stereotypes, because not every buff androgynous women must be trans or every more “feminine” by society standards man have to be trans.Cis buff women and skinny men or trans masculine men and feminine women can exist too! They are all valid
Plus it also comes as misogynistic too for those cases of women headcanons. Its almost like people are trying to deny the existence of strong cis women.

I acknowledge and know that various trans people exist too, that fall into different categories (and undoubtedly the need of more accurate trans representation that doesn’t always fall into the stereotypes or have no personality and therefore the need of finding representation out of hc)
Poeple aren’t sorted in boxes, they have diversity and variety. Not everything has to be black and white.
That’s all.

Ik this post is prob going to be downvoted a lot,idc I also wrote this super hastily so have a nice day or night lads :)
Also is this considered “hatethissmug” enough?

my blood BOILS seeing someone use an extremely good computer for shit stuff, like having a 23545876323523$ pc and using it to play roblox and specifically brainrot or dopamine frying games. the envy i feel, i wanna play so many games but my computer is too bad and old. (i feel like i forgot to mention the fact that this was targeted towards spoiled kids, not people with a job who worked for it)

Gaming I hate the extreme obsession that people have with difficulty in games (image unrelated)

Post image
• Upvotes

I recommended Ultrakill to a friend of mine because it's my favorite game and he basically harassed me into buying his (lies of P).

He enjoyed it but stopped playing it since he has a condition that makes his hands hurt if he makes many finger moves.

I would understand this situation but he played it in the second highest difficulty on his first playthrough and didn't even get through 1/3 of the game, while I have more than 40 hours on Lies of P, hell he didn't even had to buy it he has it thanks to steam family 😭.

I tried to convince him but he thinks that lowering the difficulty to STANDARD is some kind of humiliation or something (plays counter strike 2 literally every single day btw)

Why do people think of beating videogames as some kind of universal merit? Unless you play competitively there's no reason to play games in ways that you don't enjoy.

General I hate Colorism

Post image
• Upvotes

A lot of dark skinned men are colorist and some of the ones who date white women are either anti black or suffer from some form of self hate. This is why I stay away from black men who have only ever dated outside their race they’re so gross but they will approach me because I am Albino, with white skin and blonde hair. I’ve witnessed them being so mean and colorist toward dark-skinned women while being more friendlier and leinet with me/treating me as more sensitive. And they will tell me to my face that they only date light skinned or white women as if I’m supposed to feel flattered or gassed by that. But i just find it insulting that they believe Albinism doesn’t make me a ”true” Black woman.

Keyword: “some” & picture is from google.

General "Even the Author said"

Post image

Like that's really not a good defense they're the author of course they'd say that you can deflect criticism cause the author said the criticism isn't valid you should read the source and defend your take with it.
