EDIT: My kid asked me to chill out so I will not be messaging her teacher 😭EDIT EDIT: Spouse and I are considering doing it anyway (after explaining to kid) since it is a good point that many parents couldn’t afford to buy new clothes like that and the effort was clearly made. Just to consider the perspective of a kid who has no control over finances.

It's Red Ribbon Week to be drug free. I don't mind the events it's a fun way to get kids engaged and they're supposed to be put in a drawing to win a scooter. Kids who got perfect attendance won beats headphones. I live in a district of predominantly lower income marginalized communities and encouragement to show up to school is their main drive because they have very low daily attendance percentages.

EDIT 2: We love her teacher!!!!!! She's a fabulous teacher in all ways this just really grinded my gears.

It's a pretty usual occurrence that I'll get carded when buying alcohol. I'm not sure if I should feel flattered or annoyed that the woman checking my ID thought I looked under 21. She claimed that I didn't look close enough to my picture and that my ID could be from an older sister.

For context my ID was taken 5 years ago.. I feel like i'm going insane. The last thing i'm going to do is lose my shit over a denied alcohol sale but I couldn't remember the address listed on the ID because I've moved around quite a bit since I turned 21. Once she matched the name on my credit card to my ID she accepted it.

At the end of the day I know she's just doing her job but is this not my face??

Edit/Correction: This picture is from my driver's license which I got a few days after I turned 21 (I confused the issue date of my first id which I got at 18 with my current license lol)

In my state my license won't expire until it hits the 8 year mark so i'm due for a new one in a year or two. I've been meaning to update my address but I'll be honest, I've been dragging my heels because I move every few years and have never run into any issues.

I should also reiterate, i'm not mad! just looking for insight
